- A potentially catastrophic hurricane is (as of now) coming straight for Tampa, FL & our home. We received notifications that we had to emergency evacuate the area, so this video is all about our experience dealing with this situation.
Also it’s here to provide insight for others as to how we Floridians have to deal with hurricanes.

Hi from nova scotia we just had a cat 2 hurricane, 176 km winds suggestions, well totes put everything u value in totes they are water poof they are deep they have covers and will protect ur items if it floods or if its windy. toilet paper MAKE SURE U HAVE toilet paper with you cold and flu medication and ur own person medications!!! WATER get two 2L bottles of water at least they can fit in ur car OR two brita filters and jugs you never know, Battery's and chargers are important as their will be NO power !!!guaranteed.

if anyone says "Grrr you need to tend to your stuff instead of publicizing it for views", they need to be very very quiet! This is a True video of what someone is going thru during ...a hurricane. It's SO informative. SO interesting. There were even SO many tips that someone like me would have never thought about while trying to evac, (As well as Jays Vid) This was a GREAT Video! This was Awesome. As well, if you have any reason to Hang with the Splorin....It's the Silver Lining. I wish a Hurricane would come here if I could hang with the Splorin!!

Even though we haven't met in person, I'm sure I speak for others when I say we all care about you guys. With everything you guys share, it sometimes feels like we know you personally. I've been through many scary hurricanes but this one feels especially concerning. Glad you guys took it seriously and got out ok. - Keith
Hate hurricanes but we all know how this feels. Hope you both stay safe and this storm passes over quickly. We had to evacuate for Ida and was stuck in Kissimmee for almost two weeks. Praying for you all 🙏 🙏 May God Bless you.

i was in Hurricane Hugo in 1989 and it was on Thursday /Friday 21/22,1989 it was Cat 4 hit Charleston SC actually the eye was north of city with my parents and but my Grandparents was at their house it would be alright tell Tampa Jay that the Rays beat the Guardians 6-5 on Tuesday night on September 27,2022 if he what listen tell him to go on their radio not Tampa online to listen game and thanks you for comment about the Jrwish new year fir the jewish fans who watch your and Tampa Jays video stay safe and looking forward for yor next video you can put this under weather playlist
Thank you so much for keeping us updated. We all feel like we know you and worry about you! Hang in there, I would be a nervous wreck! I live in the SF (CA) Bay Area and while we don’t have hurricanes, in fact not nearly enough rain, we have wildfires more often these days. Those don’t hit my area but I have friends that live in the mountains that are often affected. They have to keep a “go bag” handy. We just get the occasional smoky air. And there are earthquakes, but rarely serious enough to cause damage. The last one that did was in 1989. Knock on wood. 😊. Stay safe and Hoping and praying that this hurricane causes a lot less damage than is predicted. Hugs!

Living in Metairie, LA. for 40+ years, prepare for at least 2 weeks without power and empty the refrigerator, especially milk, etc. Turn off and leave door open.(if you own it especially). Take was is irreplicable. Nostalgia only if you have room.

Stay safe! I road out Hurricane Andrew in West Kendall. Had a beer in one hand, a bong in the other...stayed in my hallway all night....listening to Bryan Norcross on an AM radio. I was at Lollapalooza the day before, and it twas a gorgeous day. The calm before the storm! Again....stay safe!!

Glad it turned for us in the Tampa Bay area , but I feel so bad for Fort Myers and SW FL. 😢 I was at a late Dr appointment with my daughter when all of our phones started going off. I still can’t believe it was headed right over us and it should’ve been us hit. Happy for us, but it sucks for someone else. The devastation is unreal. SW Fl has a long road of rebuilding ahead. Glad y’all are safe.

We were directly in the path of Hurricane Ida last year, which left the entire driveway and part of the yard covered in layers of shingles. Several roof leaks were created which became evident during the hurricane, there was no mainline electricity for a while (specifically until the day after my 40th birthday), no internet for a week past the point at which power as restored, etc. etc. etc. and then the roof people screwed up HORRENDOUSLY causing my bedroom to wind up being rained in forcing me into a far smaller space for about a month with that "just so happening" to span nearly the entire month of October.
Be safe! If you guys need to come to Gatlinburg TN, I have an extra bedroom...over the years, we've gotten many people to come to Gatlinburg to get away from the storms

On the gulf here about 45 minutes north of Tampa... cloudy. Not a spec of a breeze.... calm before the chaos.

I felt your sorrow and stress. Be thankful Tampa didn't get direct hit. We did here in Fort myers. I was blessed. We went to Fort Lauderdale and when we got back had minimal damage. We live closer to the interstate than the water. You are lucky you got to go to the Sanibel shell museum. Sadly, it had a lot of damage and some of the animals died, including the octopus. All my favorite places hit. So much for vloging this area.

Dang I remember going through hurricane Andrew in Miami. Our roof got so destroyed but we survived. We lost so many pictures and such so before cellphones, I scanned aaaaallllll of my pictures so they are on a hard drive. I've lost so much throughout the years even very sentimental things that were soo very dear to me, but the most important thing is that you all are safe. Things for the most part can be replaced but you guys cant be. Love you guys🖤🖤

We evacuated to Orlando last year running from Hurricane Ida. Hope y'all are doing well. It's so stressful but I hope it'll be ok.
Praying for you, and everyone in its path. Fortunately I live far enough inland that it is usually not mandatory for me to evacuate. I’ve only had to one time, and it was no fun. I learned to take, gas cans, toilet paper, wipes, a large cup, and blanket, and food for at least 24 hours. All of the bathrooms stops along our evacuation route were closed , so the side of the road became a bathroom. DPS blocked roads into small towns, so we couldn’t take a break, and get food. It took 20 hours to get from Houston area to Austin where my SIL lives. Lots of lessons learned on that trip.
I luckily don't live in a horicane area but I do live in a part of California were wildfires happen almost every summer so I have an evacuation kit with tents and other emergency supplies. I also have a blue storage tote of memories from when I was a kid and teenager and stuff from my 20s ( I will be 30 this year). I also pack up my jewelry because most of it is from my grandmas before they passed as well as a few other sentiment stuff. I also have an evacuation kit for my dog with food and water and all that good stuff.
It's nice to see some of us still have some common sense. Living in Miami all my life, I remember back in the 90's when Andrew hit and water bottles weren't a thing yet people would use some sense and fill pitchers with filtered water from their fridges. You can also clean out your coolers and fill those with water. We would also fill our bathtubs with water. Also you can fill zip lock bags with water and freeze them before the storm. Now you have idiots out there fighting over bottled water and taking 10 cases of water home so no one else can buy water. I hate to be mean, but serious idiots. Don't even get me started on the whole gas thing. I understand if you have to fill up to evacuate. But the whole filling your car with gas to park it in your house, I don't get it. Because if a hurricane hits and does enough damage that the gas trailers can't access the city, chances are there will be no work or school anyway, so where the hell do you need to drive to? Seriously, common sense is non existent anymore.
You should come to Indy to do Halloween shopping why Florida is under hurricane since Indy will give you a break from the Heat right now.

Hurricane tip I learned living in south Alabama fill your bathtub with water that way when you return home assuming there is no major damage if there is no running water you would have a clean water supply for drinking, cooking or flushing your toilet. Stay safe see you two when it's over

Thankfully, it looks like it will veer south and east of the Tampa area. Never had to evacuate where we lived in Pinellas in the '90s.

Just wondering Does Ian also have to do why it is so chilly in the Midwest so early because it is such as strong hurricane causing extreme widespread wind based storms that cause a lot of damage do to being unnoticeable in the US.

I was in Orlando on the Navy base in the late 80s. We had a fun two days locked in our bay eating rations. Sounded at night like trains flying by.
