    I don't watch baseball although o did subscribe to the MLB you tube channel to try. Question. Why is he doing a interview while playing during the game? If he drops a catch or something won't the fans be unhappy. He can't be fully focused on the game as you can see.

      it's something new the mlb has been trying recently to help with viewer engagement and stuff. they only do it for 1 player a week during the national broadcast and they do it during the 2nd inning where the stakes usually aren't very high. and you'll notice that once the bases were loaded here - and the stakes became higher - the announcers mostly stopped talking to him and he didn't really say anything so he could focus on the game.

    • @AlexSnow96
      @AlexSnow96 2 года назад

      @@intdawg I suppose that's why nobody's actually *required* to do it. It seems like guys will only do it if they think it won't distract them too much. And a lot of it seems to be just the banter they'd normally engage in on the field or in the dugout with their teammates, only now it's with a mic so we can hear it (and presumably toned down to G-rated since they know the guy is mic'd up and the audience can hear).

  • @GD-rd6ig
    @GD-rd6ig 2 года назад +1

    Silly. Mic’d up while playing is ok. But not for an interview that could be done at any other time. Silly.

    I'm a traditionalist. I hate these in game interviews. I actually turned from the broadcast because I'd want my team focused on defeating the opponent, not granting an all access pass to the media and us fans. When is it too much?

    • @mikaelag4109
      @mikaelag4109 2 года назад +3

      i agree they should be focused but i also know that players have to deal with fans screaming at them every game and they seem to do just fine (the incident with myles straw and yankees fans aside) granted they don’t have to reply to them like these segments, but i feel like they can tune the q&a session out/give bs answers to stay focused.

    • @johnl.griffinii9671

      @@mikaelag4109 I just think we as fans want too much access sometimes and that has led to these changes that I don't care for. I'm perfectly fine waiting on the post game presser - win or lose.
