I’ve had my cane Corso for 7 weeks now and she’s doing fantastic. I can tell when she wants to work so I have my fanny pack and clicker ready to go when I pick up on her cues. We do work before meal times, especially 2 days ago she was not listening to me, I made her work every piece and had her eat out of my hand. Great advice as always!
I have a 8 week old cane corso and I just received him yesterday. I took him to the vet for a health and wellness checkup and he is sick with diarrhea and fever (no parvo luckily). My question is, I don't want to miss the critical socialization period before 12 weeks but he is too sick to take out into public at the moment. Do you have any advice on what I can do to get the most out of his current situation?
My mastiff lab mix is 11 weeks and I just went through the same thing. She had coccidia which did make for a tough start for us. I carried her around to meet people and experience sights and sounds as said above. I also focused on a lot on one on one time during this period......Now that she is free and clear and has her second shots I am going to make sure she does daycare a little extra to get caught up dog socialization, and really make an effort to get her out and about. I bought Will's puppy class and was motivated to give it 110% and I can say it was stressful getting behind.... I thought we were missing valuable time but I think we can get caught up without issue.
When are you getting your new Mastiff pup? I'm getting my little EM man next week when he is 8 weeks, it would be a blast to watch yours (well, I will watch anyway, lol) especially if he/she is close in age developmentally to my puppers.
It unfortunately didn't work out due to regulations on vaccines and how old he would have been by the time he could be imported. We're still considering our next move. Good luck with your puppy though! :)
Nice stuff guys. I have a cane corso puppy he is now 12 weeks old. Im going on two 20 min walks a day. Is this too much or is this fine even with him being a Mastiff breed. Thanks

Sounds amazing!
You are the GOAT Will.!!
Much love. Much respect.
Such a great point, to be patient and starting slow.
Would you recommend using treats during training if I planned on feeding the puppy raw?
is an ACD a good guard dog. I have one mixed with Australian shepherd and we have no clue which nature he got?
How to keep your dogs attention at all time

I'm sorry he's not very well! Your main options would be carrying him out and about or having people come to you

How much/long shall you walk your Mastiff breed before 2 years old?
What do I do if my puppy pre-does things before I give the command, just for the treat
Reset, remove the treat and try again, no reward unless it's on your command
@@willathertoncaninetraining thanks! appreciate the reply!

@@willathertoncaninetraining Thanks, and good luck with getting a great quality puppy without too many regulation hurdles!

Sounds ok, he'll tell you if it's too much!
