I used to live in New York and drink Other Half, Finback, and Evil Twin. I've been trying to recreate their IPAs and the closest I've gotten was to use lots of oats. I've tried 50% of the grain as a combination of malted oats/flaked oats and the taste was very close. The head retention is poor so I think they may use a little less around 30% of the total bill and loads of hops (whirlpool + 2 dry hops). Thanks for the recipe, I'll have to try it

Man I get so much junk in the Fermzilla collection jar when I heavily dry hop.Not counting the trub. I must be doing something wrong. I could dump 2 -3 times I feel.
A 9% ABV, in the heat. OUCH !
Nelson has a very light flavor to me, Maybe thats why the low ox transfer works better here.
Thanks as always for the video, keep em coming.

MO is 2 row so why not just use 2 x 4 lbs 14.9 oz of MO ?

True and Pilsner is also two row. 2 row is the name of the barley. Many malts are made from 2 row. For some reason we call our classic base malt 2 row instead of ‘Base Malt’ or something else. What makes it different is the malting process. The water temp and kiln temp. It just so happens I went to a Malt House today and spoke to the maltster about this. So using both MO and 2 row I’m giving the beer a flavor that will be different then if I just used one or the other.
