The Ghan, The Shunter and The Indian Pacific at Adelaide Parklands Rail Terminal. 30-9-2012.

  • This video contains various rail movements at Adelaide Parklands Rail Terminal (Keswick Interstate Rail Terminal) on Sunday 30th September, 2012.
    Pacific National locomotives NR74 and AN1 are seen shunting 2 motorail wagons onto The Ghan consist for the journey from Adelaide to Alice Springs and Darwin. During the shunt movement we also see a Pacific National freight train pass by on the main line on the way to Melbourne.
    After The Ghan is seen departing Adelaide, the terminals resident shunter PL1 is seen shunting a motorail wagon into place for The Overland service to Melbourne the next day. During this shunt movement a G&W grain train is seen passing by on the main line.
    Later in the afternoon Pacific National locomotives NR2 and DL40 are seen arriving at Adelaide Parklands Rail Terminal with The Indian Pacific from Sydney. After cutting off from the consist with the motorail wagon, the locomotives are seen shunting the motorail wagon into place for unloading, then we see the locomotives head towards the Mile End turntable to enable NR2 to be turned so it can continue the journey with The Indian Pacific to Perth. 30-9-2012.
