  • This is a blend of Shuzo Fujimoto’s Hydrangea and Clover Tessellations - in an arrangement I discovered around April 2020.
You’ll need a square of paper creased into a 24 division square grid, with 48 diagonal divisions.
    (Which I note as: 24*48)
I am folding a 15cm square; the little one was folded from a 7.5cm square.
This is not a beginners tutorial
But by all means give it a go!
If you get stuck, I recommend having some practice with the hydrangea and clover tessellation first.

I send another one of your videos to my brother, since he loves geometry and its very crafted, after a couple of days he calls me and tells me nah that is some magic and that guy is a wizard...he coudnt figure out how to make this, I told him, hey practice makes perfect, I also never ever get them in the first...second...third....fourth and so on try, but once I get them I cant stop making them lol

      Thank you ☺️
The paper I use most is called Harmony from Grimmhobby. I have got it from Amazon but it’s available online at origami stores.
Endless hours of practice and wizardry is is possible 😂

Great model. I've folded a few of them using various types of paper. Your tutorial is spot on. I've folded hydrangeas by Fujimoto before so I'm familiar with the technique. With slightly stiffer paper I get a good model, albeit monotone. I need a harmony type paper with a bit of heft. With Harmony kami paper after making all those prefolds (24x24 H&V, 48x48 diagonally) my paper is a floppy mess. I get a satisfactory model, but it seems to require more work and you seem to just make your paper "pop" into place as you create the various folds and layers. I've been folding for 25 years or so I know my technique is adequate, but always improving as I fold more. So, do you have a secret here?

      Thank you.
A lot of people have asked me about this and I’m really not sure what my secret is!
I find harmony paper works really well for me even though it’s very thin.
I posted a video on here of me folding a grid a while ago that might show something helpful in my process.
Let me know if you can’t find it 👍
      Let me know if you

I have to admit, I was frustrated with the same problem and I love how the Harmony paper looks when folding hydrangeas/clovers. I noticed that Mr. E's paper never looked tortured and still had that pleasant snapping sound when he collapses the paper, in contrast to mine. I have tried many things and nothing has worked perfectly but I have had some small improvements with two changes I have made. The first has to do with my grid folding. Anything up to 16 works fine but when I need to fold more divisions, I fold them in a specific order. I learned that from Sara Adams at Happy Folding. I reverse all the fold right after completing that side of folds and so I fold up to 16 and reverse then do my diagonals and reverse and then go back and fold the remaining and reverse those. I seem to get crisper and more accurate folds. The second thing is that I fold my grids and then wait until the next day to fold the model. Something about letting the paper rest seems to bring back some of the body. Maybe it is the moisture in our hands that gives the paper that limp feel and that dissipates after resting? I have no idea but I know that there is something that Mr. E is doing that makes his different. At the beginning of the video as he is showing the folded paper, you can see that his paper is limp like mine becomes but when he starts folding it that limpness is gone. Maybe he has magic hands which I have always suspected anyway, LOL!!

I need your help. I'm having trouble doing the 48 diagonal grid . I guess I have to think about divisions of 3, right? Can you recommend a tutorial?

I measure with a ruler and make a small mark at a third, fold to there, then fold the other side to that crease 👍
