Such a great time you guys decided to do it again 30 years later albeit with the orange and black and blue and gold winning the titles(6 in 10 years. 3 giants, 3 warriors with additional finals appearances by the 49'ers and sharks)
Sorry, but great hitters combine power with average, or with high average alone. McGwire's .263 BA and Canseco's .266 hardly make them great hitters. Great "power" hitters? I will give you that, for that is pretty much all they did. Well, Canseco could hit doubles a bit. McGwire, on the other hand hit less than half as many doubles as HR. 1 dimensional is what McGwire was.
+kyokogodai Maybe so, but McGwire averaged over two bases per hit for his entire career. Even Ted Williams couldn't do that. Babe Ruth just made it (though he hit 76 points higher than McGwire). Ted Williams - 1.84 bases per hit. Babe Ruth - 2.02 bases per hit. Mark McGwire - 2.24 bases per hit. McGwire didn't hit a lot of doubles because he was hitting home runs instead.
5:35 is the longest homer I've ever seen at a game in person. Even with the juice it still takes talent to hit a baseball that hard and that far. Unfortunately for McGwire, Sosa, Bonds, Palmeiro, Clemens, etc.. all of their accolades and achievements on the field will forever be tainted. But the game sure did prosper at the time because of it.

Mike Napoli hit a long one near there in 2016 but it was still well below the scoreboard and 30-40 feet short of Mac’s. That homer was unreal.
I think Bo was another Hershal Walker - I don't believe Bo was on the juice. Bo - like Kobe & Hershal - had these super hero personas - on the athletic field - Like "Ricky" (Henderson) - though I might argue Ricky had sum juice.

THEY CALL ME JOSEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!
and im mark.
2:50 People don't talk that other aspect of Canseco's game very much...dude was a GREAT baserunner, just as good as his famous power. He could've gone stealing 30-40 bases a season every year if he so desired.
@01:45 That upper deck shot by Canseco is sick.
He murdered that ball
truth is more pitchers juiced, than position players during this era..
Lol
Wow 😯... look at all those old school baseball logos on the wall in Toronto.
thx for the post
Canseco starts to pimp the home run before he even makes contact
I loved watching the Bash Brothers. I forgot that Canseco played for the Blue Jays.
He played for the Yankees and the Devil Ray's as well...
Back in the good old days
I loved the Boston outfielder took one step and then said to himself that I won't have a chance to get this one as it went almost 400 feet.
Put all players on juice, make baseball great again
Putting all professional athletes on juice would improve any sport. But it's not legal and it's very unhealthy.
Is that circle at 2:35 right next to the base path supposed to be the on deck circle?
