Holy strange arse sound warping....... No idea what's causing that. I'll double check the original files and see if they are this warped... Sorry about that! =|
1st WESTPAC by USS Tarawa, 1979(?). I was with composite Helo Squadron (HMM-262 plus attached), there were 4 or 6 AV8-B Harriers aboard. My AE shop was essentially right under the #2 Launch/Land spot. Horrendously LOUD the very few times they operated from during the deployment. :)
I can only begin to imagine how loud it really was given that the decks of the Tarawa were kind of sort of made to accommodate the Harrier after being launched primarily for helicopter support roles... I doubt the decks are nearly as thick as they are on a proper carrier! :P That said, awesome! If you have any awesome sea stories to share, feel free to do so! The AV8B is one of my favorite aircraft in DCS World due to the unique challenge of flying one well!
Nice landing there. Helpful guide need to practice VTOL landings, find it harder than Hornet/Tomcat carrier landings. Used to be able to do VTOL landings, perishable skill.
For these videos, I was using trackIR with the pro clip but normally I fly in VR. The lack of smoothing of motions in VR videos can cause discomfort in some viewers so I do video content for DCS with the track IR
@@Whiskey11Gaming It was, I fly the F14 at the moment but I am trying to learn the Harrier also. My mate usually flies the harrier so we are sort of swapping planes at the moment
@@Sicgaming Gotcha! I fly both too and love the systems on the Harrier and the VTOL challenges! :) She's a beast of an aircraft for the attack role. No complaints there! I'm still struggling, heavily, to dogfight in the F-14. She can missile truck really well and lob Phoenixes at stuff and shoot them down, but the close in knife fighting is what I really need to work on in her! :(
@@Whiskey11Gaming She takes a lot of muscle memory to throw around for sure. I think I have the hang of her now. I only have one video up of me flying her and that is a comedy video (operation harris on my video list) but we are looking at doing some serious videos down the line if we become good enough!

Never knew you fly DCS, Nice.
Sure do! Might be more DCS content coming Soon(TM). Need some days off to get there first

A good joystick makes a huge difference too. The Harrier is definitely a bit hectic in the landing pattern, way more so than the Tomcat/Hornet are!
Yes, it's harder, sometimes at 82-degree nozzle angle, Harrier starts to swing like crazy.
Do you use TrackIR if so, which one?

I think switching off fuel dump stops the master warn, even if the system shuts off automaticly
No, after he dumped fuel to bingo fuel, he needed to set another (lower) bingo fuel which will cancel the warning.
Some nice flying there mate :)
Thanks! Thanks for watching too and I hope this video was of help!

Especially after the landing I pull off at the end ;)
Is the description correct?
It's pretty basic but as general guidelines it's solid. Why?
I just need sooooooo many hours to touch down like that...
