All these songs were written in the 1970's, we put out this ep because many of our fans were clamoring for some of our older music resurrected, plus this is also something to hold everyone over between full studio albums! Enjoy!!
This is just as bad ass as their recent, forever black. It's amazing how they have kept their bands spirit alive after all these years. Rock on, guys! \m/ Half past human is one of your best songs of all time right there. Grade A stuff.
I'm a newer fan then most and I started listening to these guys back in high school back in 2014. Just bought this and the first two records on vinyl these guys rock.
To set the record straight that is an 1930's Alfa Romeo P3 Grand Prix Car, at the intro and outro! :-) I know we were not the first but we used the same clip on our original version of this song on our 1978 "Orange Demo Cassette"
Oh great powers of the West. I am ever in your debt. Please accept my humble fanaticism plus some change to the record company and the T-shirt company. For I am unable to offer thee planets, nor kingdoms, nor mansions, nor groupies, nor gems, nor gold. Ever shall the albums of Cirith Ungol be played throughout the cosmos until the end of the age.
Reminds me of classic era Quartz (NWOBHM) especially on the title track. Just a great authentic metal sound, as if it truly was written in the 70s or 80s and recorded today.
Such a fantastic EP. Cirith Ungol remains steadfast in their dedication, sound and vision. They continue to bring the '70s screaming into the present. Legends...
Feels like more than 30 years ago when I discovered Cirith Ungol :-) ... Great EP and thanx a lot for this! I'm looking forward to next album. Meanwhile I enjoy "Half Past Human"! Greetings from Germany!
Cirith Ungol - Half Past Human (FULL EP)!!!!!
Very good Ep... All thou one important element is missing. Especially in the Old Songs... Its the '70's Guitar Fogleish - Lindstrom Harmonies. A very strong element of your sound. You must bring it back in order to be complete. Your roots comes from the '70's... ''Shelobs Lair'' & Route 666 sound better from Falcon because of that.
I get where your coming come. Do you suppose they would be worried about sounding too dated though? Don't get me wrong, there's no such thing imo, when it comes to the 70's and 80's rock and metal sound. I just wonder how few we are? Just how targeted and perhaps limited of an audience do they want to get?
@@Warrior_Resisting_Colonialism well... C.Ungols Music is already "out of date''. Its not that they bring something else to the table. They are who they are. They can't escape that, or where they come from. If you listen to all their discography after the reunion it is based on their early material. ''Forever Black'' for instance is a tribute to Frost & Fire in terms of harmonies and songs. The band said it also. But you can hear it clearly. Witch's Game is more like K.O.T.Dead. So you see C.U. Is a '70's Heavy Rock - Protometal - Heavy Metal or call it whatever you like. But its that. It seems that they can't go any farther thatn that at the moment. And thats fine... Now concerning this last release, i just hear a different mixing to old and new material. More compresion. Yet again they try to reproduce a ''modern way of their old sound. But it doesn't have the power performance the band used to have because they don't have that guitar element. Jerry Fogle had an all around playing. He had great string team with the GREAT Flint on the bass Lines... Now there's no bass. Don't get me wrong, i still like them but have a listen to the demo versions of the songs ''Shelobs Lair - Route 66'' and the Falcon guitar in these songs. Jim is good player but it came in a different era of the band to record the EPIC ''Paradise Lost'' But he doesn't have those harmonies. Heavy Metal - Rock Music is not just fifths. They used to use all these great power chords. However i still support them.
musik super a little bit to clear . forever black sounds better more bass even more black . so why they make only a ep not a full album that makes me a little kind of sad , but a like it i am happy to hear new songs off this great band of doom . a special magic atmosphere came from the musik that lay down the sadness of the world but give a kind off hope . but evil never dies is bullshit because there is no evil in the true dimension off PAN . evil is only in the brain off the humans who has lost the door to the methaphysical higher true off all be one in the power off unconditional love . so lets kill your short mind of be this physical boody and grouw up to the true off your eternity godlight being too love yourselve to see every second of your life as a happy wonder journey off love peace harmoney to all because you are all

That makes this release quite an amazing time capsule.
Nice. The production is a little lacking though.
Thank you love it 🏴☠

Cirith Ungol never disappoint!
The album covers too.

Tim Baker's vocals aged like fine wine. Fantastic
Amazing. I think he sold his soul, it's the only explanation lol.
maybe it was the seasoned wood 🔥🪵
They're actually better than they were in the 80's - less screechy.
Remember the times when every other record kicked off with a sound of a starting engine.
e.g. Wheels of Fire (Manowar, 1988)
V8 Luchando por el Metal
Warhead - Speedway
Wheels of steel by saxon

This songs on the FALCON debut album were AWESOME. This adds a new flavour to them. Ungol kicks ass!
Love them two Falcon albums!
@@xriswolf78 Hope those get re released sometime soon (a double CD would be great).
@@heavymetalchild87 that would ne great! I got them years ago from them directly. A special boxset would be perfect
Got the EP so thanks for posting this. This sounds like it was fun to play.

i listened to them back in the 80s......are they still kicking?????
they are man! I'll see them live next month 🤩
First heard CU in the 80s still an amazing band
So amazing! Discovered this band about 15 years ago, and became one of my favoutites. So nice to see them resurrect from obscurity to full glory now!
These were released quite some years ago by perry greyson and greg lindstroms band Falcon. Cool to hear them with tims vocals.
Legend and much better as the most new releases. Metal from the 80´s is the best metal forever of all genres.
It was the day when I finished the Cirith Ungol chapter and this album was released. Awesome coincidence. Great album though.
Really odd because the same happened to me actually

Is it me or is there alot of 80's ( specifically Maiden ) sounding music here ?, not really into the vocals though.
