- 2-1 vs. Maliss.
Man, I honestly really enjoy playing against this deck.
I bricked SO hard game 1. I opened 5 (after drawing my 6th card) of my 10 monsters. Nothing I can do with that. Next game.
Game 2, Yata was literally the ONLY monster I opened. 🤣 Thank God for Super Poly, though. I made Triphyoverutum before my opponent could really get started, drew a Barrier Statue the following turn, and dropped both that and Yata (under Morganite)....causing my opponent to scoop.
Game 3, I had a pretty good hand, but a lot was riding on my next draw....until I saw his end-board. It was fairly weak, to be honest. Maybe my hand was just tailor-made to deal with that specific board. Regardless, I broke his board, ended on a Dyna with 3 backrows, and flipped Imperial Iron Wall the next turn. GG.
Enjoy!

I found the first comment about 10 monsters funny haha, but I honestly think that 10 monsters FOR ME, is a lot. It's 1/4 of the deck, there are many possibilities to draw several. I remember that mathematically when the 3 card of demise existed, 7 was the correct number. To play 10 normal summon monsters, you have to play with at least 2 copies of morganite to avoid them being useless in your hand. I think that with a morganite at that time it would have been a different story.
I play with 8 and sometimes they group me in groups of 3 and I want to die haha
@elyugi-pibe haha, yeah, it's a bit tough at times. However, when I was running 8 monsters, I would sometimes go on LONG droughts without drawing a monster whatsoever. You have to remember, the more standard build, which you run, also runs 3 copies of Nadir....which is essentially 3 more monsters, without ACTUALLY being monsters. I run zero search cards, so I have to hard-draw my monsters.
Honestly though, prior to Jowgen being banned I ran 10 monsters. Sometimes I'd brick and open 3 or more, but most of the time I wouldn't.
Also, the higher monster count actually makes my single copy of Forbidden Droplet more potent. Actually, earlier today in a different match, I had 3 monsters in hand, Forbidden Droplet, and Card of Demise. I was able to dump 2 of my 3 monsters, shut off two monster's effects, summon my 3rd monster, and successfully play Card of Demise for 3.
I definitely agree that 10 monsters is a bit on the high side, and it can mess with my consistency, but I really do think it's a necessary evil in a build without searchers. It works, for what it is. Lol.
Overall, my deck has genuinely been playing better since the change, other than the occasion monster-heavy brick. 🤣
I'll definitely keep testing though, and if I need to make adjustments, I will.
Maybe drop 1 Water Statue (dropping to 9 monsters) for a 2nd Droplet? Who knows? Lol.
