- Geometry Dash's Extreme demons like Silent Clubstep, Slaughterhouse, Sakupen Circles, The Yangire, Kenos, or Sonic Wave Infinity or wave spam effect layouts can be amazing but they are not even close to being the Best Levels in GD 2.11 or 2.2

like all these levels are good and all but there is nothing like some Unnamed 0. It's INSANELY original, the gameplay is UNBELIEVABLE, and the decorations are so good, like I honestly think player is the best creator ever despite their name being player like they should win a gd award for that it's like way too good like he should have like 5 gd awards already and should be in the top 10 like forget subwoofers world box and white space unnamed 0 is the real best level

My personal favorite demon level is eternelle vehemence, BY FAR the most fun level I've played. 1,000 attempts on it felt like 100 on any other level

I think boom slayer could be up there, I mean when a level has its own song made for it that already makes it fantastic and then it has fantastic gameplay, design, and arguably the best bossfight in all gd.

Fun fact: Having a level have a song made just for it is against the rules of NewGrounds. That hasn’t stopped anyone, but if you look at the rules, it says you can’t do it, and the example specifically mentions Geometry Dash
I think white space is the best level ever. Xender is updating it so its gonna be better once released. Night rider is a close 2nd, and easily takes best endscreen. (Both unreleased but night rider is just starting verification)

Great video! I know there were a lot of things left out due to time constraints and stuff fitting in, but two things that would have been cool to see are Dream Flower and SPWN (the programming language made by Spu7nix)
To me it's Revolution by Funny Game. The level of originality this level has it's immeasurable. The gameplay is amazing. I probably chose this mainly because of the nostalgia, but it's of the most beautiful levels in the game, if not the most beautiful. Hands off to FunnyGame, one of the best creators to ever touch the game.
imagine playing a "build your triple spike!" level and seeing tons of shitty triple spikes until 5:00 pops up out of nowhere
My favourite level is nhelv ive HEARD the gp is good and the deco is amazing, also the mountain part it so good at building tension, nothing like it.
At only good if you like memory and the deco is good but not enough to be better than a lot of the stuff on this list

Personally in my opinion I think change of scene is the best level in the entire game amazing effects, original, optimised, 4 minutes of game play, and I love how the level took only 1 month to make and was built by one player

I think VEIL by Neigefeu is really underated. The gameplay is fun, syncs perfectly, and is original. The atmosphere of the level is also really good. The only downside of this level is the lack of block design, but thats alr.
imo when night rider will be verified it has potential to be one of the greatest levels out in 2.1. Overall great video

Can respect castlemania as the final choice, absolutely love that level, and can't wait for white space to come out. Personally my favorite levels are Dark Odyssey, The Clouds Give Way, and The End. None are the best levels in the game (although DO might come close) I just really highly value the kind of atmosphere they have. Those are levels that managed to hit me like no other levels can.

Good video, but I do think that it's impossible to narrow it down to one level generally. Probably would have been a but more entertaining if you ranked levels categorically instead of going over a few different ones and then settling on 4 levels at the end (which I don't really think was enough in the first place). Still a great video, just some constructive criticism :)

(Note: The part where Hypnotic Travel is the longest rated level is false now, because Renn just made "The Long Walk Home" which is an 11 minute 20 second easy demon that I actually beat.)

Personally, a newer level called Reanimate is my favourite level. It has such crisp detail alongside a unique twist on the hell theme. For Auto, the Elements series by Solacress is amazing. It was like watching a whole movie in just 4 parts, and it’s not even done! He even made his own NG tracks for the levels.
Remember your documentary series for GD? It was amazing! Please continue it! That was my favourite series.
The longest rated level is actually an easy demon called "the long way home" wich is 11m20sec. (wich I beat first try btw)

Deco wise some parts are definitely better than others. The amount of detail is insane though. I personally found the gameplay alright but nothing more.

How do you not even mention Nhelv which is easily gonna win best level of 2021? Castlemania is impressive but it doesn't evoke a feeling, Nhelv perfectly expresses the emotions of the song onto a visual canvas. Along with that it's supposed to be super fun gameplay wise, and is unlike any other level before it. I have no clue how you managed to skip over such an important and foundational level, it at the very least should've gotten a mention.

hey !'m a HUGE castlevania fan in general, and some time ago i left GD because i lost interest in the game. Then out of nowhere one day i saw a level called castlemania and i instantly clicked, i was thinking of making a castlevania themed level since a long time but this is for me a true masterpiece, and i love playing this level, i recognize the bosses and the places and i just love that some people took the time to make such a beautiful level, and now i'm back on gd on a very friendly gdps and i'm glad i've gotten back to the game bc this kinds of levels are what i love about the game :D
(ps: if you're curious the gdps is called gdExus, its not a big one but really nice people in it)
I so agree with your opinions on CastleMania! I too have never had as much fun playing a great level as I did with CastleMania! It’s feel, and Open-World like appearance are what make this level my favorite in the game, probably for a long time…

Ok bro, those 4 levels that you listed, while they are masterpieces on their own, don't really represent what gd is as a game. I think you should have picked more conventional levels that are immediately recognizable as gameplay based levels rather than art levels. While I think good deco is awesome, without 10/10 gameplay, I don't see how you can say Castle Mania is better than say Sedulous, a level loved by the entire community and that not only has the best deco in the game, but the gameplay is super fun and consistent with no chokepoints. Or Napalm by Marwec, also with amazing theming and much better gameplay than any of the levels mentioned in this video.

All JonathanGD levels are fairly worthy for this title with their unique and fun gameplay, amazing decoration and outstanding songs.
Also CraZy III has an amazing bossfight, is clown themed and has unique deco.

White space turned out to be amazing, but if you have a good pc, a daydream journey is one my favourite. Lags on my 3060 ti occasionally

i think the sync score should be merged with the gameplay because levels like mastergame or some movie levels don’t necessarily have sync

Depends on personal taste. Genre and how the genre conventions are met in the level are what makes the level good, along with enjoyable gameplay.
Castlemania is SUCH a Good Level in my opinion, I had such fun exploring all of the secret ways in the level!

I absolutely adore both white space and castlemania, but having played both, I would say I actually prefer the gameplay of white space, except for one part near the end. Overall, it is really fun and very balanced.

the level "how" had so much complicated features that it crashed my game in like 3 seconds.
I highly recommend playing the level "Taurus" which is an easy demon because it's just so beautiful amd the gameplay is awesome. It's my favorite level so far.
This video is really well made and I really agree with the statements made here (tho I think Castlemania should be 10 in decoration). Also, where's Boom Slayer, Nhelv and Spectrum Rave? Ik you can't really judge extreme demon's gameplay, but taking a look at demon slayers opinions through youtube is not very hard tbh.

I love sync, but it's not really original. New Record is literally just a rhythm game that looks like a GD level, and while it pulls that off super well, it's not anything unheard of.

Fun fact: Every level in GD is Special on it's own it's made by the creativity and thoughts of the creator of the level. (Yes Every level even the trolls and the Impossibles also the levels on Recent tabs)

one of the best levels i think is press start full ver, its a 2.2 thing so i have to used a hacked gd subzero to play it, yep, but it has like the origanal boss fight and another one, and its in 2.2, and press start is one of my fav songs
My favourite level is Kyoto Rush: Beautiful, good sync, good difficulty, fun gameplay.
This level was made before dark odyssey... Honestly, in my opinion my favorite level is lonely travel. I think it is by far one of the most themed levels, and it feels incredibly sincere and magical to play, reminds me of mario 3d world.
If this was released nowadays then well rested would be a great contender.
