This is my favorite Liszt's piece which does not only focuses on the technical part but also on the "romantic" part. His romantic side is very audible here.
3.45 is literally the most beautiful stretch of music I have ever heard in my life I really need to re learn this I love it so much I spent weeks and weeks on this and now I can't remember it :(
I heard this today in my Music History hearing test and omg I just fell in love with this piece!!💗 I totally wanna learn how to play it, it's beyond gorgeous.
I'm really glad you used Annie's performance for this recording. Her playing is just marvelous, and this one is no exception. You could tell that even Lang Lang was impressed when she finished playing.
I personally find looking at the sheet music helpful to understand the coordination of pieces. But Un Sosprio is so confusing this is really helpful. Thank you for taking the time to share this.
Liszt was skilled. It's very hard to make hard songs on the piano sound good. Do you know that Liszt used the money he got by performing virtuosos to save the Beethoven monument which was about be get taken down because of lack of funds?
@@arnavanand8037 Really? Thats interesting, thanks! Ive heard that in his later years he gave free piano lessons to talented but poor students who couldn't afford lessons. Really fascinating considering Czerny, his teacher was really expensive.
@@daviddinoger :) btw I would like to ask you Could Liszt (or anybody else) could play his Grandes Études de Paganini no. 4 1838 version? Because I can't find any trusted sources on the internet.
There was a couple notes incorrect that I noticed (simply because I play the piece) and a couple spots that I definitely would've played differently, but otherwise, I absolutely adore this interpretation.
Hayden Rouse at 0:55 some videos show it as going all the way up then playing the two high notes and going back down (like this one) and others including the sheet show you go all the way up play the first high note, go down two notes, and then play the highest note. Liszt is by far my favorite but alot of his etudes are more rambunctious than beautiful this piece and liebestraum show how beautiful Liszt could be with his melodies
That Random Guy xD don't worry just focus on the complicated part. At first you need to be slow and steady. Make sure its clean even though it is slow. The complicated parts makes the people think you're the best. Oh I forgot, try to check the patterns of the piece and techniques that have been used to make your playing easier.
Its sound nothing like the oceans etude, Its is in a completely different key and a completely different melody. The Only thing that they have in common is that they have very fast arpeggios but the arpeggios are completely different

When Liszt focuses on making something beautiful, and not his usual crazy style, he makes the greatest music ever.

When Liszt needed to, he could compose a romantic etude like no other.
