@@nachafitton571 If you can join as an officer do it, I'm an aircraft tech and we get treated like peasants half the time. After phase 2 it will most likely turn into a 0730 - 1630 or 1630 - 0200 job with some time to go to do sports if you excel or really put yourself out there

This was self evident when the colour of potential pilots was leaked as a box ticking quota issue... colour should not be an issue. The lack of funding is also making our military a joke and clown leaders who give endless money to corrupt morons in Ukraine is utterly disgraceful. No we don't want a war with Russia either. J O K E
This should read "commissioned life in the RAF, there is two sides to any armed forces. I served 12 years in the RAF.
Totally agree - I served 7 years as airman and 5 as officer - they are two different worlds.

No, that's shirt sleeve order. One of the many dress codes in the military. You can chose to wear a tie.
Short sleeve shirts are never worn with a tie.

Not sure what your experience of the RAF is, but you promote a lot slower than in the army because of the longer expected service length.
