Mav there are tons of homeless people in LA. I moved from there a year and a half ago. It gets to a person after a while. I had about 5 or 6 people asking me for money everyday. My #1 piece of advice for all of CA is to always be aware of what you have visible in your vehicle. Unfortunately car breaks are an epidemic out here and you’d be surprised at how quickly it can happen. They’ll do it broad daylight even with tons of people around so the less they can see the better. Besides that welcome to CA! I'm a 62-year-old nurse who's stuck in that grind that you referred to. Maverick I think that this is awesome! It will also bring more adventures. Might I suggest a couple of things. Get some window black-out material so that people cannot see what is in the back or the cab of your pickup. Otherwise, they will break in and steal stiff. I would also suggest moving the refrigerator to the backseat area of the cab. This will free up living space in the truck bed. Maybe you could take out the back seat and build storage for the things you typically store but in an unorganized manner. Last, I would get a better lock for the camper shell. They will break that in a minute. Just trying to help you be safe and not get robbed again.

Exciting times. I think you need a converted van like Hannah or get yourself a 4 wheel truck camper if you want to stick with your keep on trucking theme. That will get your comfort level up while on the road. I'm sure you probably know that brand already. Maybe do a factory tour of 4 wheel camper in woodland california. Lived in duluth 15+ years ago and in Vegas. West coast has year round decent weather.

I lived outta my ‘05 tacoma prerunner for 11 years and I gotta say, as cool as the truck looked, I hated having to get out of the cab to access the back camper area to sleep, with no way to get back into the cab without exiting the back. I solved that issue by getting a new sienna mini-van. Stealth camping is so much easier and I can hide my surfboards inside. Great videos man keep it up!

Please visit home when you can and spend time with the people you love. Your parents, grandparents and family are irreplaceable. I recently lost my dad and it was devastating. Santa Cruz area is just awesome. I think Capitola beach is my favorite California beach for just hanging out. There is almost no work there and the housing is crazy expensive, but if you are living in your truck, not a problem. Nice camping, hiking, diving, fishing, and lots more there too.
Make sure you maintain your truck mechanically. If you can do mechanical things on your own, great, but if not, make sure you take it in now and then and have it checked --- fluids, brakes, belts, etc. It wouldn't be a bad idea to have a couple extra spark plugs (pre-gapped and ready to install), couple belts, multimeter, fuses, something to fix a flat tire. That kind of thing. Keep an eye on the age of the battery too. Taking it in to a shop could be dicey itself. Maybe some subscribers out in that area are good with mechanics and would be willing to check it out for you. Someone you know you can trust. You can probably buy the things I mentioned for pretty cheap, although the belts could be costly, but it depends. Food for thought if you plan on relying on your vehicle now.

You guys should take the PHC up to the Santa Cruz area and check out the beach, mountains, woods, streams, ponds and lakes.
