Sooo...... are you saying we should use amsoil metal protector? Just wondering.
It's great stuff. You can even buy it by the case. www.amsoil.com/shop/by-product/other-products/cleaners-and-protectants/mp-metal-protector/?zo=10458
Great job. You should have put some brake grease on your metal shims that the pads slide on
Don't forget to check and re-grease the caliper slide pins
Agreed. It's always good to lube everything up.
There are lots of videos about this particualr modle of Elantra, there is one on 1aauto channel but this video is for people who have never done this job before. All the other videos assume people have some knowledge.
Just wanna add try to wear some protective gloves for protectign your skin and some heavy gloves to protect your hands. Also watch 1aauto's video as they show some other cleaning tricks.
I appreciate the comments. Good luck with your repair.
@@InsaneOil Can these Elantras wheel bearings be lubricated from the hole in which the ABS sensor is inserted?
Thank you sir, followed your detailed video and successfully replaced front rotors and break pads .very helpful and definitely saved $$. Also used the links you posted for Amsoil products. Thanks again
Awesome, sounds like a great accomplishment.
I’m this process do I have to remove the rotor if I’m only replacing the brakes?
It is always recommended to remove and either resurface or replace the rotor when changing out the pads.
My caliper bolt broke 😢 do I have to replace it right away trying to get a replacement
Caliper bolts breaking are fairly common… Especially if it is really rusty and corroded… You will need to get a replacement
This is a very good video- slow and very informative. Great job!
Thank you for the comment. Good luck with your repair.
I cannot get the mounting bracket off any other ideas they are lubed up
Mounting bracket bolts are typically in there really tight… Even worse, if it is rusty and corroded… Possibly use a breaker bar or impact gun
Thank you we figured it out 😊
Very thorough!
Thanks for watching. Good luck with your repair.
Nice job! Great detail explanation, I’ll be doing this.
Thanks for the comment. Good luck with your repair.
Hello! The screws that hold the disk in place are broken off on both sides of the car. I can take the rotor off but the new one won’t stay in place without the screws. Do you know what I should do?
I don't believe the screws are necessary as the wheel and lug nuts will hold everything in place once everything is back together.
How much is it ro resurface the rotors?
Just called, current price is $25 for car and $30 for truck rotors. I think it was $15 when I filmed this one.
@@InsaneOil what kind of place am I looking for?
@@tlr_automotive I go to O'Reilly Auto Parts store. However, only a portion of them offer this service. You'll want to call around.
How to replace the front disc
Great worl very good videl.sp easy to.understand thank you!!!
Thank you for the comment. Good luck with your repair.
hi there what a great video man, i just please would like to know what should I do is my brake liquid is full???, should I open the top??
thank you
Thanks for the comment. Here is a video that shows you the process for checking/topping off brake fluid. ruclips.net/video/AoQ_AclFrGU/видео.html
Good vid, only thing he forgot was the caliper pins. It's always a good idea to pull those pins out and lube them if they need it. At the very least they should be checked for mobility. If they are stiff and hard to pull out, they need to be cleaned and lubed.
Yes, thanks for pointing that out. I completely agree.

I realize now that my comment was redundant, but it is always worth mentioning.
Just did my fronts today. As usual, 1 side went smoothly, but the other side didn't. I snapped both caliper pin bolts and had to replace them, as well as both pins. Fortunately, it only set me back 10 bucks at Autozone, but it's still aggravating that it happened. I also needed to rent a breaker bar for those 17mm bolts, but the job is done.
What if I cant get the piston pushed back with the clamp? Mine wont budge at all.
It is possible your caliper has a seized piston and you may need to replace the entire caliper.
What size drill bit to use to remove rotors screw plz let me know thanks
Size Tiny

Outstanding. Thanks for the video.
Thanks for the comment. Good luck with your repair.
So those rotors have not been changed for ten years?
At the time of the service the vehicle was 9 years old. The vehicle was always garaged.
You are awesome. Great video. Now I wont have to pay over 300$ to get them changed.
Glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks for the comment.
I just replace my front breaks, on one side it’s making a ticking sound. What does that mean? I followed step by step
Could be a number of things. Did you have the rotors turned down?
@@InsaneOil no just put in new rotors
@@etiennevincent2325 Did the pads slid in easily or were they really tight?
@@InsaneOil they were tight
@@etiennevincent2325 Do they slide back and forth in the hardware. It could be that they are stuck and not sliding away from the rotor when you release the brake pedal.
Great video. thank you :)
Thanks for the comment. I hope it helped with your repair.
@@InsaneOil your video gave me confidence to try it on my car. I'm going to get the tools first.
@@Karen-pl8kd Awesome. You've got this.
