This helped me set up my string action on a guitar I've had for 17 years, and I just now started trying to learn it. And this and the rest of the series has been hugely helpful for setting up my standard tele. Good stuff ^__^

Thank you so much for this vid. I got a really good deal on a player series Fender Tele while I was in Poland. While I was in Poland the action was perfect but some how during the flight back the string action got super high.

Really good video! I personally appreciated the tip that some buzz you can hear when strummed, but not through an amp. So test it with an amp. I was in that exact spot. Great advice, thanks.

This was a game changer for me, too when I found out. I have an Epiphone SG which has a buzzing lower e string when played acoustically and I was always worried about that until I found out that it's not really audible when I plug the guitar into an amp. ;)

Good tutorial. By putting a capo on de first fret you take the nut out of the equation. This works if the nut is perfectly cut but it will always be a fraction higher then the first fret. Keep that in mind. I always double check my action before and after I worked on the nut.

This was super helpful and well explained. Thank you! Btw, at 1:12 when you say “gauge” you pronounce it exactly as it _should_ be said, but that is not how we native speakers say it. The way we say it, it rhymes with “cage”. Englisch hat Regeln, aber wir können sie anscheinend nicht befolgen 😅

After about 18 years, I've finally bought proper tools (from Music Nomad) to setup my own guitar haha! Though, higher quality tools are not cheap, so having an alternative like this to setup your own is something beginners with limited cash would appreciate! I know I would when I was just learning during my teens! Such a clever solution! Good job, Rina! Also, I saw your channel update posted 5 months ago, any updates on when we can expect new videos? :)

Thank you so much for your kind words! Music Nomad would be my go to brand, too but they're difficult to buy in europe. And about the videos… yeah, it's been way longer than I'd have thought! Moving and then putting everything together in the new flat (especially the kitchen) took forever and left me so exhausted that I didn't have the energy for anything else at all. But, a new video is in cutting stage at the moment and it feels so good to come back! FINALLY! :D

Why do you capo the first fret, since you are intonating the strings. You fret the 12 fret for the low E and the high E, then go from there.
