My travels in Syria continue with a visit to Damascus, said to be the oldest city in the world. Please note I am a tourist, a traveller, here in Syria and not of these videos are meant as a political commentary. These videos reflect my experiences as a traveller in Syria in November 2021.

Much respect towards Syria and Bashar Al Assad for defeating American, Saudi and NATO Backed Sunni Rebellion and Sunni ISIS and saving the Syrian People and it's Culture.

A strange and conflicting feeling, happy and sad at the same time, that the one who left the country cannot return. The rest of the world can visit at any time.
If I return, I will be taken to serve in the army and fight against my country so I left, and of course after I lost my family "that is, they were killed during the war".

Unfortunately, it's under a problematic regime. The country is run like a big mafia.
Words of condolence are not enough. I can't imagine how it must feel, seeing foreigners smiling and going on tourist trips to your country, while you are living with devastation in exile. Syria is like paradise and it is so heartbreaking what has happened. May your family members rest in peace in high station, ameen.
Happy to see this video. I feel honoured that i got a chance to visit syria in 2019 December. So much history and such good people in spite of war destruction.

Don't quite understand how one can make such a naive video.. oblivious to a terrible regime and the civil war that has created millions of Syrian refugees, forced to flee a defunct country ! And you say nothing..show nothing.. Incredible.

@@JanetNewenham A very difficult life, no electricity for water, a huge rise in food commodities, and no job opportunities due to the destruction and the criminal regime, so many Syrians migrated to other countries

Great video. You mentioned Hammams a couple of times. There was a lovely programme on RTE last night about lost Ireland, featuring buildings that are no more. There was a Hammam in Dublin, now a Penney’s store I think. Orla Fitzpatrick has published a book on Lost Ireland, which I have just purchased from Easons!

The old man from the leather shop in behind welcomed u by saying in the original traditional Syrian Arab words ; "ya met hala bi ahsana" wish that means " the 100s welcome for the most gentle photogenic feminine"
P.s : in the Arab language world all the Arab can understand Syrian
+ its the most use in the media and in the market hotel business and receptions..
CuZ its so sensitive delicate full of details..
