- This is my run of Any% Wingless in Sonic Lost World at Awesome Games Done Quick 2016 (more info about AGDQ at www.gamesdonequick.com/). I'm really glad I had the opportunity to run this game at AGDQ 2016, and hope that most people found it to be an enjoyable and informative experience. AGDQ 2016 was a blast, and I thoroughly enjoyed my time spent at the event! Enjoy! ^_^

otherwise great run
This was excellent! Often commentary is dry or because the couch doesn't contribute, the gameplay suffers as the runner is forced to juggle commentary and speedrunning. You looked natural and actually make this game look like something I wouldn't mind playing.

He’s so entertaining to listen to I honestly wouldn’t have made a single sound if I felt like he was on a roll.
If you think about it, Lost World sorta semi-introduced the drop-dash we know from Sonic Mania, as the infinite spindash continues even when you land from a jump.
Honestly loved how much you talked in this... A lot of other runners wouldn't say nearly as much about the game and its features and rely on donation reading. Thankfully you kept that to a minimum cos holy crap that stuff gets annoying literally instantly

It's not a drop dash. You aren't initiating a spin dash in midair. You're just holding on to a current one.

DSS is one of those speedrunners I always come back to revisit when I'm going through a phase of watching speedruns. Brilliant commentary.

Great run. I figured Lost World would be an interesting game to watch a speedrun of, and it didn't disappoint.

I absolutely loved how you were able to casually explain all of these tricks you are doing in simple terms that a non-runner can understand.
I watched this run via the AGDQ archives a few days ago and ever since then I've been trying to get my hands on the game (for Wii U already have the 3DS version and I don't want to play anymore of it) I've always respected the older Sonic games cause you had to work for your speed instead having a boost feature and your run shows just how fast and complex this game can be if you learn it enough. Great run man.

super late, but the fact he explains every little thing and how to do it, along with showing exactly how to do it even if it hurts the time (the spider glitch even though he lost a lot of time) makes DSS the best speedrunner i've ever seen
I always did speedruns for the 3ds version of this game but it's a lot more fun seeing someone who knows what they are doing
I honestly really like Sonic Lost World, I especially love the charming different things they tried and animations, including snowball Sonic and the skating. An underrated game imo, deserves a bit more love

I love how the light switch mechanic in Silent Forest 4 reminds him more of DKC than the Sonic level it's based on.

Great video! Intended to watch only ten minutes or so but ended up going through the whole thing. Your commentary was consistently interesting, and you somehow managed it for practically the entire runtime of the video. Not only was your run fascinating, but you've inspired me to give Lost World another shot after I walked away disliking it. Great commentary and great gameplay!

Amazing run and commentary DSS!! Is it weird if I actually prefer the 3ds version of this game instead of the WiiU? I think the 3ds version has better physics and tighter control of Sonic. I just couldn't get used to how the WiiU version plays

The infinite spindash has amazing aerial control and you can even double jump and retain it.
+Turnabout Gaming after I find out most of the stupid puzzles is skippable .It's pretty fun to blaze through it . :)

It's great that you played this game at AGDQ 2016. you showed that this game is not really all that bad.
The spindash is amazing in this game. Its so satisfying to just blaze across a level with successfully performed jumps, parkour tricks, etc.

HOW do you focus while talking, you are god. Thank you for explaining everything, I am new to understanding the speedrun scene for most games. I always knew about speedruns but didn't know they varied so much until like recently.

the game honestly has a pretty interessting idea. being more of a plattformoriented game with some 3d shenanagans in there and it gives you speed that you have to be skilled to properly retain.
God damn was this worth staying up until 7AM to watch live!!

Flying Battery didn't have large corkscrews. Unless you're talking about the vertical moving spiral platforms.
This game REALLY screws with my mind, straight normal roads next to loopings on the ..now the wall? Love the cartooney poses of the first boss guy though.

+Papyrus the Skeleton Well I guess its my fault that I watched most of his practice streams prior to this. He plays much better when he isn't trying to simutaneously inform everyone about all the games mechanics and crap. Then again, its hard for a lot of people to do that, and its how I found out about him in the first place, so good on him I suppose. His streams are a lot more entrataining from a laid back perspective, as he actually takes the time to read the chat, and the chat cooperates and doesn't spam. I was suprised at the large number of "man, I should really give this game another try" comments that he was getting afterwards. Like I watch a lot of reviews and crap so all that seemed obvious to me.
