Gauntlet is a Dungeons & Dragons simulator of sorts. You choose a class of Warrior, Valkyrie, Wizard or Elf to navigate the Gauntlet, collect treasure, slay wicked monsters, and save your beloved peasant hometown.
Walkthroughs for this game estimate a completion time of several hours when playing normally. Here, we see the game completed in only 12 minutes! Usually clues have to be collected to discover the password to the last dungeon, but this is selected at the game's beginning, so the clues are unnecessary in a TAS. There is also some collision detection abuse and lots of luck manipulation.
This version takes a better path, manipulates fights more, and abuses luck to get the password with shortest input time.

God damn this game is great. Sick tas
Literally one of my absolute favorite games for the system. I logged so many hours in this game growing up that I had some of my favorite passwords memorized by heart.
Gold Elf needs TAS...badly
Wow, never even knew there was a boss in this game. When I was a kid I thought it just went on forever.
Beat with one hit point lol
Nicely done! Totally forgot that there was an ending. Guess I'm too used to the arcade edition.
A great, very much need improvement. Love the style and techniques used. A+
All those levels, all those trick pathways, all those hidden exits, and a secret code for the final level, all for that suck ending forgetting that most of the music was good until the final theme. I'm glad I never had an interest to play more than a quarter of this game. At least when I beat ninja gaiden, they gave me an ending that made all my hard work worth the effort and entertained me a bit with all the cut scenes. Besides the music this game has an over-the-top suck ending.
All it's missing is a reveal that your character on the end screen is just a cardboard cut-out that gets blown over by the wind
I can't relate with you. The game itself is enjoyable. So, I don't think it really needs an awesome ending. Although that would be nice.
@@Other_Kev Lmao, what are you talking about? That would be an awesome ending.
Better than, congraturation!!!
Really?...I never Finish this awasome game...
Yay! You did it
Would it save time to do the key underrun glitch?
Yep with getting KeyFlow glitch in start of room 22. It would likely save at least 5 seconds overall. It could possibly go for it somewhere earlier too.
He could save another second or two by pausing when he had to step on the green freeze tile then unpausing, which frees you of the time penalty.
Thanks Satan I never finished this game when I was a child. That ending is SO disappointing...
I played this game as a kid...
And had no idea what the f*** i was doing
There’s NO WAY that elf can soak up damage like that and live!
This game is EVIL.
Here's my summary of evil.
1) passwords starting with an A do not work. the game can give out passwords starting with an A.
2) a key is required in the first world 4 clue room. there are no keys at all in world 4 before it, and you probably didn't have one the first time you got there. Better hope you saved a password from earlier, or you gotta start ALL OVER!
3) there's one invulnerability that cannot be gotten ever.
4) branching path hell to get all the clues
5) no password takes you beyond the first level of world 5. even if you beat later treasure rooms. This does let you grind max health, BUT.
6) if you get too much treasure, your password stops working.
damn, that's fucked up!
This makes me sick. Sooooo good
Gameboy gauntlet2 1989 how to play after 70 level?
