- I did a review on the Makita M9204 Random Orbit Sander when I first purchased it about 2 years ago and a follow up after a year. It's still going strong after 2 years and I wouldn't think twice about going to buy another one if this packed up.
If you haven't seen the original video then it can be seen here • Makita M9204 125MM Ran... please do go and watch that video if you're interested in this sander as it gives my initial thoughts.

Great tip about the rubber cleaner. I have a JCB branded sander, it looks very similar. I have managed to connect my shop vac to mine, it works really well at collecting the dust and keeping the sand paper clean.
Thank you. I think it depends on what you are sanding as to how well it clogs. Very dry fine dust should move more easily. Paints etc. will all clog so quickly. The rubber is great though for all sanding paper.
Paul great review. I've been looking on screwfix and finding your three reviews of this product has really helped me decide. Perfect set of reviews. Thank you. 👍
Thank you Patrick. Glad this has helped, I always try and find user reviews rather than manufacturer ones as they are not so biased. These are of course my own personal opinion and others may differ.
Спасибо, полезное видео!
Рад, что это помогло
Good video Paul that Sander has lasted well 👍
Thank you Dan, very pleased with it.
Thanks for the update Paul. Which pads do you use? I don’t seem to get the great results you do. I have the Erbauer screw fix model with their range of pads. Maybe the secret is in the cleaning?
Thank you Neil. I bought a batch of different grades off eBay when I got the sander. They were all Silverline. Cleaning is essential though. All paper will wear out, the speed just depends on what you are sanding.
Hi Paul great video I will be getting this tool soon just wondered is the rubber pad you used to clean the sandpaper pad from screw fix as it looks similar to the titan one?
Thank you. No it’s one I got off eBay. Think I just searched for sand paper cleaner or similar. Last a very long time and give the paper a good life, especially useful in kit where it’s a pain to change the paper.
@@PaulLockwood thanks for your reply as im a new guy to this. What's your go to grits of sandpaper my friend recommended 80 120 220 grits what your advice. Many thanks Chris
hi paul one question how do you sand off the small strips of the door? you can't get in it with the orbital sander and a normal beltsander is to wide. Do you use some kind of small stripsander or just do it by hand?
When I sanded down some doors, it was partly by hand and partly with a multi-tool using the sander attachment.
There will always be some hand sanding.
Would this work well on drywall too, do you think?
I cannot see why not as long as it's not butting up to edges.
Hi, How loud is this sander, I need a sander but unfortunately live ina. flat and don't want to piss off the neighbours!
HI Luke. It's not too loud. If you're in a confined space then it may seem louder. Normal daytime use and the sander itself shouldn't be too noisy. I would certainly use it indoors. It's not like you're going to be using it 12 hours a day so would expect any neighbours to put up with a little noise during normal noisy hours of the day.
@@PaulLockwood Thank you for taking time to respond.
