- Today we dig into the Camry and do a full suspension overhaul, inspect the inside of the engine and take it for a test drive! We were shocked with the results of bore scoping the engine, so sit back, relax and enjoy this episode! #automobile #car #diy #mechanic #asmr #autoauction #automotive #autorepair #cars #flippingcars #toyota #camry #autorestoration #howto #auctioncars #carenthusiast #trending #youtuber #yt #fyp #foryou #oem

Use valoline restore oil to clean piston rings to stop oil usage!
Thanks for commenting I really appreciate it!! I will definitely try some of that
Nice work 👍, just bought my first vehicle to work on a few weeks ago, I’m excited to see your finished product it’s making me excited to work on my own purchase
Thanks man I appreciate that! Good job I’m glad I could inspire you to get to work! Stay tuned for the finished product, video will be out next week it’s insane!!
Self taught fixing cars or schooling
Both, started when I was 16 with my first car didn’t know what I was doing really, then decided after high school o wanted to learn more about cars so off to school I went for 2 years and graduated.
I bought a 2001 Camry with 225 k milage. In great condition. Since I got the vehicle I did a ton of work on it that the previous tech forgot to do. After doing the water pump, fuel filter, vacuum lines etc it thru a check engine light. P code for the camshaft sensor. Upon further inspection I found that the previous technician did not put the screw back to hold the sensor in place. Nuts. I ordered the new screw from Toyota and will complete this project. Don't understand these techs today and why they do such poor work.
Also, why did he not do the water pump when the timing belt was done? I am a old school tech trained. We would never have done this kind of work. Just saying.
My specialty now is older Toyota.
I own two Tercels 93/96 and a 01 Camry. Love working on these old girls. They run for ever. ✌️
Love it man! Thanks for sharing and commenting I always appreciate hearing great stories like this, gotta love Toyotas!!
Also, forgot to mention I will be doing the front lower control arms. Both sides are shot. Keep up the videos. Good stuff.
@@LouisCapps-p3z yes I highly recommend doing that it makes a huge difference and thanks man I will keep pumping out more videos, I think I’m going to be doing a celica rebuild next so stay tuned!

Are all the 4 spark plugs are stock and original? did you change alternator and starter motor already?
Yes they were the originals with 240,000 miles!! lol. No they tested well so I decided to not mess with them, Toyota quality hahaha! Thanks for commenting I really appreciate it

i like your approach to the repairs. You had me scare during the suspension spring bit... Great video!
Thanks man I appreciate it !! Yea the coil springs always scare me too haha ! More videos to come and some more cheap cars to flip 🙏
Great video, look forward to seeing more!
Thanks man I really appreciate that! I can’t wait to bring you guys more content I love doing this!
Another good vid. Are you going to run it through emissions here in Colorado?
Thanks man I really appreciate it! I’ll have another one next week hopefully 🙏 Yes sir im going to take it this week im 100% sure it will pass with flying colors !
Toyota years ago ran a engine rebuild campaign on these 2.4L engines due to the oil burning that happens in these engines.
Really? I was not aware I will look into this! Thanks for commenting I really appreciate it!
@@RattleKanRestoz5280 That was on '07 and up, when they went with loose piston rings. It wasn't an issue on '06 and before.
@Krakondack thank you for commenting and clarifying that! It’s a HUGE misconception with these motors, and that is why I love these earlier generation Camrys, even with 240,000 miles mine still has the factory crosshatching on the cylinder walls and it burns NO oil whatsoever, great car great gas mileage great engine. Love this Camry want another one or as many as I can snatch up lol
@@RattleKanRestoz5280 I have a Toyota Camry 2.5L four cylinder with the 6 Speed Manual Transmission. I have 269,000 miles on mine. Doesn't burn a drop of oil between oil changes nor does it smoke. Runs like smooth sewing machine. The 6 speed manual Camry get phenomenal gas mileage. I average about 4 oil changes a year. I do 5,000 miles intervals or every 6 months in all my Toyota's. I've owned Toyota's since the late 80's into the early 90's. I follow the Toyota Care Care Nut (TCCN) on RUclips. I take all my Toyota advice from that guy... He's the Best for all Toyota and Lexus information.
@@RattleKanRestoz5280 I bought an '05 last year, for my kids to tool around in, but I like driving it. I like how smooth it rides, and how simple it is. Everyone loves the trunk size and shape. My issues are (probable) worn valve stem seals - no oil consumption but a puff of smoke on startup, and a check engine code that sometimes comes on then goes off again, saying HC catalyst below threshold. My dilemma is whether to invest the money it would take to fix, to drive it until it breaks, or just buy another and hope it doesn't have those problems.
Great video. Greetings from Australia
Thank you I really appreciate your feedback! Awesome to know my own videos are watched so far away, Greetings from Denver CO USA!!
No one greases ball joints anymore I don't know why
Most ball joints are sealed so they don’t have any grease zirks to insert the grease into the ball joint, mostly only pickup trucks have grease able ball joints it’s rare on cars but you can buy them aftermarket
Good job 👍👍
Thank you! I really appreciate it
hey boss you got the link to that boroscope? thanks!
glad your engine is in good shape those cylinder walls look very nice. It doesnt burn any oil does it?
excellent video subscried
ty
Yea I added it in the description box but I can add it here to your comment as well share.temu.com/LrYUWAT8VEA thanks man I appreciate it! Yes I got very lucky with this one and no it does not burn a drop of oil 🙏 more videos to come!
Get impact driver makes things so easy, and fast.
Thanks for the advice man I will definitely look into getting one!!
Use caution: Suspension parts May Rickoshe & come back and hit you in the eye like a toenail clipping
Very true I’m always very cautious and kinda nervous around suspension especially coil springs. Thanks for commenting I really appreciate it
Add gas to tank. Maintenance done.
Hahahaha I LOVE IT!! So true 😂👍
Comprenssing strurts tool quite unsafe plus the some of the after market part not reliable at all. Rather to research better quality fit after market parts on line and leave the struts to a convinience honest autoshop.
Not going to spend $1000 to replace struts on all 4 corners for a car with over 240,000 miles, this is about saving money and dong things with a budget in mind and what is most cost effective. Thanks for commenting I really appreciate it!
@@RattleKanRestoz5280 You can get good reliable aftermarket brands auto parts with low budget .
Real Shade tree mechanics drink NoS
This is a huge FACT lol!
Have an avalon with 333,000 miles. Runs a little rough. Working on it. I had to do wheel bearings and struts. They last. It may go to 400,000.
Yes Toyota with maintenance and regular oil changes will last a long time! I’m sure it will make it probably even more than that.
333000 brooo impressive. I’ve been working on 07 Camry 200k miles trying to nail the suspension all around. Been working on improving the lifetime of engine.
@@JKBRevolution-zd2ju yea I love working on the suspension on these very simple!! Thanks for commenting I really appreciate it
@@RattleKanRestoz5280 keep it up the money ur saving from car work especially these odd ball jobs crazy. I know that engine has a seal issue but I have the same engine you just gotta keep up with oil checks weekly you seem quite knowledgeable so I’m sure ur all set
@@JKBRevolution-zd2ju thanks man! Yea I’ll make sure to let the new owner know when he takes delivery. New video this week on the complete interior and exterior transformation!! Epic
Is that duct tape on the inner tie rod?
Hahah it is, I didn’t have the boot at the time but it has a new one on there now.
