    Not boring at all Ryan! I love the attention to detail you put into your explanations. I.e i learnt today the water pump had centering bolts!

    I dont think your supposed to put silicone in those half round slots. Those are there to catch excess silicone to prevent from getting towards the o-rings

      @JoeWitAFro Год назад +2

      This comment is correct, those half rounds are to catch any excess silicone from getting into the two main oil passages . Don't double up like this video! Also Toyota states 5 minutes to install before FIPG needs to be re-done.

    Fun fact - you are not suppose to fill both of the grooves with FIPG on the oil pump. The inner groove closest to the o-ring is to catch the overflow of the FIPG when it squeezes out

    8:30 I was watching Jay's video (Real Street performance) installing the 2jz oil pump. He said the 2nd line doesn't need sealant and that the 2nd line by the holes are for overfill.

    @purefunction Ryan if its not too much to ask, can you make the series of episodes in a created playlist? Makes it easier to binge watch the episodes

    It's really cool that the oil pump says Toyoda and Toyota.

    So the water pump doesn’t need fipg gasket maker too for the mating surface between pump and block? Since that one o-ring is there? No need for any other gaskets?

    What part number is that water pump, I find that there a different ones that’s being sold. Any info is appreciated. Thank you!

    Are you using a modified oil pump ?

    Do those freeze plugs still act as "freeze" plugs, or do they thread into block?

    • @PureFunction
      @PureFunction  2 года назад

      They still work as pressed in freeze plugs. They’re just reusable now

      @@PureFunction That's nice, now I just have to justify the price tag lol. Hey sorry to be bothersome but in your experience do you recommend oem timing belt tensioner or PHR billet?

    Ported oil pump or nah?

    • @PureFunction
      @PureFunction  2 года назад +1

      Never port them, we have crazy oil pressure as it is. When you port them it causes more issues then it solves.

      @@PureFunction so I got a fully built 2jzge engine it’s going to be NA-T but I can’t decide if I should get a ported pump either DM or PHR, a non ported GTE pump$350 at toyota, or a non ported base GE pump $500 at Lexus for a street car and some drifting I’d like to hit 500hp though but I’d also want the added security and insurance with the oil system but that’s just me

    • @CmoneyGarage
      @CmoneyGarage 2 года назад +1

      I went with the factory untouched gte pump for my na-t build I'm doing, you should be fine with that.

    • @itsreallytheo
      @itsreallytheo 2 года назад

      @@CmoneyGarage I called up DM for some advice and I wasn’t sure if they were telling me real facts about the oil pressure worse without porting of if they just wanted me to
      Buy a pump lol I’m not rushing but just researching why I’d need a ported pump over stock

    • @CmoneyGarage
      @CmoneyGarage 2 года назад +1

      @@itsreallytheo I guess the theory is for better flow and less restrictive relief BUT the stock one works great imo and the proof is in all the stock gte running around making 800+ hp with no oil flow issue. Alot of Time people tend to over complicate thinks in turn causes more isssues.
