I would like to thank you so much for your presentation. I just bought this machine and it was easier to follow your explanations than the pictures on the manual.
I watched your video last night and I thought maybe I had a sightly different model to the one in your video, as it was bought a while ago. The needle threader is not mentioned in my user manual at all so I assumed it didn't have one! Anyway, I had a look at the machine and found it! Whilst I have not used it heavily (once every few months) I have been threading the needle by eye all this time and this is becoming more difficult as I age! I am feeling slightly annoyed for the unnecessary squinting, but delighted to find I no longer need to struggle 😂. Thank you so much. I enjoyed the rest of your video too, and feel more confident about exploring the different settings on on the machine now. Thank you.
This is good information for someone who already knows what they're doing with a machine. I was gifted my mother's sewing machine, and it's this model. I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT SEWING, but always wanted to learn... what is a bobbin? What is it for? 🤔 you wound the thread around it.... DOING WHAT? Did the machine do it by itself? What button did you press? I wish this were a video for total beginners as they're aren't a ton of videos for this model. 😔
I pushed the start-stop button on the front of the machine to start winding the bobbin after I pushed to bobbin to the right. I hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any more questions.
This is amazing. Thank you so much for this. I've had this machine for a few years and I didn't even know there was a needle threader on it! I've been manually threading the needle like an absolute clown this whole time! Also, you've really demystified the manual, like another commenter said. I struggled to understand how the features work with the manual but this video was so incredibly helpful in that regard. Thanks again!
You have helped me so much with my new machine and I appreciate it so much. In fact, watching your tutorial made me decide to buy this one. It’s so much like my one from the 80’s. Thank you again!
Hello. I really enjoyed the detailed explanation. Thank you so much. Im looking into buying a new sewing machine and I seem to like this E20. My only concern is that I know with some sewing machines the one step button hole might give problems with thicker fabrics. I wonder if this is also the case with the E20 since it needed the multi purpose tool to help with sewing the layers on the jeans Also I would like to know if the multi tool you used can be bought from Husqvarna agents or online. Thanks
I would like to say thank you, for doing this video it as helped me understand my new machine. I wish you could show me to unjam my machine after sewing a bit to thick fabric. ( only saw your voids after) I took bobbin out ( Husband came on seen😖 like a little boy with a toy) and pulled it all out. Have tried to put it back, but tension a it lose.
Thank you so much Dalene for your videos. Just bought this machine last week and had an issue. I tried sewing jeans with jean thread, which is thicker than normal thread, and the machine would jam and the thread was getting stuck all the time. I returned it to the store yesterday and tried it with the store agent. We realized the machine would work well with a normal thread but not with thicker thread. I was a bit disappointed and would like your opinion about that. I used to have an old Singer machine and didn't have issues with thicker thread. Is this normal?
It was probably the needle. Did you try a topstitch needle? I'd recommend a size 120. However, if you're planning to use this machine mainly for sewing jeans, you might try an industrial machine like a Consew or a Juki. We sell a Consew that might be perfect for you: www.mcdonaldsvacuums.com/shop/Sewing/Sewing-and-Embroidery-Machines/Consew/p/Consew-Portable-Commercial-ZigZag-Walking-Foot-Machine-x67615104.htm. We have financing available if you need that - let me know. I don't have a video on this machine yet, but will try to get one up soon.
Thank you so much for this video. I've had this machine for years, it was a gift, and just started actually using it. I'm having some issues with the system jamming. Do you know how to resolve this? I think it's a tension thing but I don't really know how to resolve it yet. Here's to more learning!
Hello, I just bought this machine and had issues too. Returned it to the store to be told my thread was too thick. We tested the machine and realized it worked well with normal thread. Maybe you should try this. Let me know if it solved your problem.
Thank you for such a great video. I’ve had this machine for about 5 years and this was a great refresher, especially since I bought this machine in France and it came with an Italian manual 😂. My one question is what bobbin size does it take? I’ve bought a few and none of them have fit properly. Is there a store or online retailer I can buy them from? I feel like I may have made it a lot more difficult than it probably is.
Thank you for this, it was very easy to understand. I got this sewing machine for Christmas and it is a bit intimidating 😅 What is the name of the tool to level the foot when sewing the denim?
Hi, I'm pretty sure there's a replacement part, but the machine may have to be taken apart to put it on. I'm going to ask you to send an email to our mechanic (my husband Patrick). He may have some questions for you. His email address is mcdonaldsvacuums@att.net.
I just got this sewing machine and trying to do a standard overlock stitch but I don’t understand how to select the «s » option. Where do I find it on the machine? x
The button with the plus and minus sign next to it adjusts the presser foot pressure. If you need more pressure to feed heavy-weight fabrics through, you would tighten it. If you need less pressure to feed light-weight fabrics through, you can loosen it.
I have an E20, but it is not an H Class, so it doesn’t have a needle threader. Was so disappointed to know that my model is probably the one previous to this one, because my eyes are giving me problems, and I wish there was an easy way to thread the needle. Is there anything I can use that will make it simple so I wouldn’t have to struggle to thread the needle? Thank you
Yes, there are needle threaders available. Here's one that we carry that also holds the needle for you when you need to replace it. www.mcdonaldsvacuums.com/shop/c/p/Machine-Needle-Inserter-Threader-x26805828.htm

Hi Darlene, I've had my E20 H Class machine nearly a year now and it's recently that the top thread is showing on the bottom of the fabric. I've tried adjusting the top and bobbin tension as suggested on you tube but it's still not working properly. I've been sewing masks most of the time and it's frustrating when the thread is so loose. I literally can pull the bottom thread out after sewing. What else can I do in order to get the thread to work properly? I've tried diff bobbins and thread. Appreciate your help. Thank you.
If your thread is looping on the top or bottom, or if it lies flat on top of the fabric, you may need to adjust the tension. In our experience, however, most of the time people have not threaded the machine correctly. It's critical to raise the foot when you are threading the machine. If the thread is looping on the top of your fabric, take your machine to a dealer.
Try removing the bobbin, the bobbin case, and the hook. If the bobbin case was not in securely when you started sewing it may have slipped and caused the machine to lock.
