I was 12 years old living at Lakenheath Air Force Base in England when Candy Girl came out and was the #1 song in the country. I have been a fan ever since. New Edition needs to just get in the studio and do it. I am a fan, however it is frustrating supporting them. NE would be an even bigger group if they recorded more albums and cut out the drama.

They really did Puff is A Jerk. This New Edition Album and Carl Thomas Second Album lacked attention. All He had to do was let New Edition do them. Then Put the Bad Boy Machine behind the Album. They both would have won.
Johnny told the group not to sign with Puffy...but Mike was handling all of the business and pushed for NE to sign with Bad Boy Records. Puffy kept all of the album production in house except for Newness and Re-Write the Memories (Jimmy Jam/Terry Lewis) which were the two best songs off of the One Love album. NE wanted more Jimmy Jam/Terry Lewis production but Puffy said no. The only good thing that came from that One Love album on Bad Boy Records was that it got them off of MCA Records and out of their MCA Records contract.

3. In all my years as an NE fan, I have never seen Ralph and Ronnie bond. At all! I know they are brothers and all but this was beautiful and refreshing to watch/see.

5. Johnny is out here feeling himself 😎 To this day, Johnny Gill and chaos/disorder DO NOT go together. Him leaving for vacation coz $hit ain't right. He was like, I'm out! I love it!

8. Was Ricky straight though? This should be the time when he was really in it with the drugs. Most of the fellas says that it was around the One Love era that they found out how badly he was struggling. I am so glad he came out of it in one piece.

10. They do seem slightly disoriented and unsure of themselves. Lacking in confidence even. But who could blame them? Prior to this they were dead broke and the last time they had a hit was 8 years before, in '96.
11. New Edition will always be New Edition. They are always and will always be unapologetic about who they are and what they are about, both individually and as a group - money or no money. I am glad that they managed to get themselves back on their feet though and I am grateful for growth, also as individuals and as a group.

Bobby being Bobby lol loved seeing biv talk to jmj RIP was a real one. I'm sure he schooled alot of young dudes to the business. And for biv to pick his brain says alot about him. Great Doc.

Mike talking ish, Johnny going off, Ralph and Ronnie in NY and Ralph talking about his different colognes had me lmaooo. Ralph just looks like he smells good all the time. I do not blame the frustration with the behind-the-scenes matters that Johnny had and spoke of before leaving for the airport 🛄 to go on vacation. And I like the way Ralph broke the issue down as well.

Puff Really Dropped the Ball with these Legends. Situation was so sweet. He didn't have to do much. Just Promote their Album with the Bad Boy Machine. But Noooooo he tried to make them a teen group Foh
Dramahawk Promotions he didn’t have to do ANYTHING but maybe ensure the sequence of the tracks were good but NE already had a formula for success and there was no need to change that at least for creating records, he could have just backed them and made sure the business side was straight.. most epic failure in R&B on his part!

Puffy ripped NE off, didn't promote the album properly and didn't let them make the album that they wanted to make forcing them to use Bad Boy in house producers for all but 2 songs (Newness & Re-Write The Memories).
It would be a good and excellent idea 💡 if Ralph and Ronnie brought back the Ralph and Ronnie show, but on social media and live. On one of their Instagram pages while the guys are on break in the studio or rehearsing for something NE related. Lol, I think 💭 it would be cool, mostly if they were to add people on like a talent show 🎤 or something like that!▪️😊
