    • @WillyFish
      @WillyFish  2 года назад

      Corn in the fall/winter can be tough. Try some garlic or natural powerbait scented colors. Orange, red, brown and white can be good this time of year!

    I caught two trout today and lost one. Your video was so informative and helpful. Caught one on orange with bloody tuna scent. And another on the USA with glitter once the sun came up. And caught the other on the number one bait from this video. Shhh keep the secret.

      Awesome. Keep on catching! So glad the info helped. I'm always experimenting and trying to learn and bring info to everyone to be a better angler. Stay tuned for the 2021 colors and scents version - there might be some changes!

    Do u try n set hook or let them swallow it

    • @WillyFish
      @WillyFish  3 года назад

      It depends on the bite. If it's a lite bite, I will set the hook. If the rod is going off really good before I pick it up out of the rod holder, I don't set the hook and just start reeling in.

    Do you put scent like pro cure on the already scented power airs like corn or garlic stuff.

    • @WillyFish
      @WillyFish  3 года назад

      I do sometimes, not very much. But it depends on the fishing conditions and time of year. I'm going to do an in-depth video on adding scents to powerbait coming soon...

    I have rainbow trout nuggets, will those work?

    • @WillyFish
      @WillyFish  3 года назад

      Absolutely! The nuggets are a little big for the smaller trout, so keep that in mind if you are getting bites but not the hook ups. That may mean you need to downsize your bait.

    Any experience with the waxies(the imitation wax worm) and any luck with the purple nymph dough? Or the power bait cheese? Just curious of what other oddities Berkeley puts out that you’ve used and if they worked.

    • @WillyFish
      @WillyFish  3 года назад +1

      Not as much luck with the waxies. But I have caught plenty of trout with the nymph and cheese flavored powerbaits. I'm working on a video for those kinds of powerbaits (nymph & cheese) as to when you should fish them and in what conditions. Stay tuned...

    What’s best line for trout 4 or 6 or 8 or 7

    • @WillyFish
      @WillyFish  2 года назад

      Depends on the time of year Joe. I go with 6lb as my standard, but go to 4 when the water is super clear. 8 or 10lb if I'm fishing an area with bigger trout

    • @harrydick3300
      @harrydick3300 2 года назад

      Always use 8lb better safe than sorry, when throwing spoons use 10 - 12lb flouro because they can't see it. You'd be surprised how hard a 2lb trout can pull...I catch trophy trout all year long here in Oregon and you don't want to get caught fishing 4-6 pound test, I catch fish with hooks or flys with that worthless size line all the time and I fish at least 250 days a year, remember you man need to drag the fish through pounds of weeds or through timber...unless you're catching little dinky fish like these in the video use the higher test rating they aren't afraid of it. I'm at 115 trout on flies and lures and a little corn power bait here and there since Jan 1st this year and most are in the 17 -23 in range with most around 20 in range on streamer flys.
      Edit. I'm using 20# braid with a 2 foot flouro leader on medium light 7ft 3 rods rated at 6-14 fast action for the spoons, they hit like a freight train (triploid trout mostly).... Even though they say they are "rainbow trout" there are many sub species but most here have the orange cut marks on them but they aren't cutthroat trout.

    I let you know something that it's a secret where I live cause some days it just don't work but 90% percent of the time it works...... That color would be yellow with garlic scent with glitter and mix it with orange with glitter killer on days it's slow and partly cloudy

    • @WillyFish
