Dev of Genome Guardian here - I so wish Bioweaver was willing to do a bundle with me. Both our games have that biological build-with-parts vibe but they only want to bundle with games under their same publisher :/ Will def. be playing Bioweaver myself though, looks great.
healing exists from multiple sources. my hc character before dying had like 70 hp regen per second. hardcore mode means losing everything equipped, but not overall progress.
This game is a continuation of Bio-Prototype. But because of some sort of shenanigans they couldn't continue with that title and started this one, Bioweaver. Its quite different but the core mechanics are relatively the same.
In my personal opinion, Fur of the Earthshaker is by far one of the handiest ranged attacks you can get your hands on early on. link it to an Arm or Tongue for multihit mayhem, link it to an Intestine and a Belly/Stomach for widespread ailment chicanery, and more. key it off a Spine that fires faster rather than harder, and you've got something crazy.
I think Munch would be another good game to try, is a good mix of a game like this and more open world rogue lite mechanics. As in it's another monster builder, but it's vastly different from this.
Oh this is a nice surprise! I enjoyed the first game and I think there was a sequel in the same style as the first that I didn't play. I was playing Brotato this morning and actually thinking about if there is another DLC it would be cool to have something like this game is as Blobfish already made Space Gladiators so a mash up between the arena and traditional rogue would be neat. I will check this game out for sure when I get the chance.

Glad you're still playing this

Oh dang I haven't played or seen that game since I tried the demo last year. Good to see it's still a quirky and enjoyable trip of a game.
