Hi Jack, just to clarify the “Stamping” part is actually “Movable Type”, which is a technology invented in China. Basically is carving individual characters then organising them into a box holder by order of a paragraph or a page, then brush with ink and print on paper. This way they can keep printing the same page over and over. Say if they wanted 1000 copies of a book, they just do this for each page, and print 1000 times, this way creating a large number of books made faster than hand copying a thousand times.
Yeah, and I bet the paper was invented before this too and these inventions is called "Four Great Inventions". They all shown in the Beijing Olympics Opening Ceremony too. Might be more interested to know these before head, and then watch the ceremony, you may find out 'they' were performed in the show.
As a student volunteer, i had the honor to participate all the process of Beijing 2008 Olympic. I was there for the opening ceremony, and my classmates and I were so moved that we cried together. I was in charge of traffic control at the basketball arena throughout the basketball game and got to meet all the big international players in person. Looking back on it all now, I am so blessed.

That part with performers inside of Chinese characters was not representing stamps but rather the invention of a movable type printing system. Before that, when any piece of knowledge was to be shared, either people had to manually transcript it, or carve everything into a master printing template. Neither of which was time-efficient. With a movable type system, you can reuse these characters to assemble different articles to mass print. It was a pivotal moment in Chinese civilization. Movable type system, along with the compass, gun powder, and paper making, is believed to be the four inventions from ancient China that had the most far-reaching influence in the whole world.

日本的习惯就是这样，在疫情这么严重的情况下，不能表现得喜庆热闹，所以很多都被临时删了换成对逝者的追悼。
一开始像鼓一样的东西是叫“缶”（和“否”同音），是战国时期的乐器；第二个很多方块你说stamp那个是中国的四大发明之一：活字印刷术；后面的船是展示的“郑和下西洋”；你最喜欢的那个在星球上跳舞，如果我没记错应该是表现对浩瀚宇宙的探索。整个开幕式就是一卷历史书，千年历史长河娓娓道来，从古代到现在，从现在到未来的憧憬，凝聚着中华民族的历史结晶和对未来的希望，确实非常令人印象深刻。Li Ning的中文是“李宁”。

@@大娃李 缶是乐器，但是开幕式上面这是个青铜冰箱。。。做成了功能为鼓的一个鼓，但是其实是按照出土的青铜冰箱样子做的。缶真的就是个碗一样的东西，你可以搜一下就知道了，我们有出土缶，离开幕式这个样子十万八千里。张艺谋胡乱嫁接，但是我们中国人可不能搞混了。
