Oh ya, that will make my kids want to practice piano even less.
my god ... how did they do all those effects with the piano and it rolling around ... that was out of this world
That Steinway piano was perfect for this duo-tailor-made. Love the devilish allusions and also the music of elflking. Schubert was surely with you all the way here. He would have loved all of it, plus the new pianos.
THIS IS SO COOL! I WISH SCHUBERT AND GOETHE WAS HERE TO SEE THIS!
This is the piano equivalent of Stephen King's "Christine". Instead of a killer car, it's a KILLER PIANO!!
I'm going to be the only one to comment on how good looking these fine pianists are? Wow, tremendous performance and awesome videography.
when the music is played with great spirit, it will produce incredible music like this
BRAVO
Des Wahnsinns schönste Form in einem gigantisch guten Video visualisiert!
I loved how symbolic this video was, and with the corresponding voices of The Father, The Son, and The Erlking... this gave me chills.
The Best Video of a Piano performance ever.
I almost forget to breath through the video! I think I felt all the emotions the desperate child, the struggle of the horse, the impotence of the father, and the ambition of the Elf King.
Bravo Goethe, bravo Schubert, bravo Anderson et Roe (pour l'arrangement et pour l'interprétation), bravo Matthew Brown et son équipe (pour la video)!
Fantastic!
Phenomenal, Wow!
The music by itself is enchanting but knowing the words and folklore makes this even more...frightening. Every time I watch this I see and hear something different. Bravo!
Brillant, je retrouve un morceau qui m'avait beaucoup ému pendant mon adolescence. Quelle interprétation magistrale !
This is the most fascinating and creative piano duo I have ever seen. God bless you both!
As a singer myself I know the lyrics by heart. It's really great how every single word accent can be found back in the arrangement, without having the actual words there. Bravo!
F A N T A S T I Q U E !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow. Just...Wow. Chilling, and beautiful at the same time. I'm getting this album.
I love this take. Did the menace and subtle horror of Das Erlkonig proud.
Spectacular! Shades of *The Legend of 1900*!
This was simply amazing! Love their videos!
Probably THE coolest "classical" video I have seen on RUclips. Cheers, Anderson & Roe.
One Word! Excellent!!!!!
absolute gas🔥🌬
What a wonderful arrangement and performance!
I love it sooo much on all different levels!
Epic....Wow.
I love this so much! You bring such a different type of coolness to Classical Music
Brilliant!
The best music video I've ever seen..
Wow, great job. Both in the musicianship and the video itself!
This just might be my favorite video on youtube.
Amazing. So intense. Scary beautiful. And by god, its Schubert!
THERE you are! I've been Jonesing to see this vid. I really don't understand how this didn't win a bunch of....stuff. Just incredible; skill, sex, homicidal piano. Everything. And if you're confused, read the poem.
This is one of the best music videos I've ever seen. Not only the best filmmaking ideas but also a great music quality. My congratulations.
Nice cinematography. What I heard with what I saw gave me goosebumps.
GYAAAAHHH! That was so amazing!!!!!!!! XDDDD Der Erlkonig is one of my favorite pieces of all time!! Oh gosh, what an interpretation! Truly riveting. Beautiful beautiful job, Anderson and Roe. Thank you so much for being such an inspiration to me. Schubert would be pleased. And Goethe ;)
I'm skeptical. Lieder are text-based. Without the text the song has lost it's most important part. Of course Goethe would hate it ;D
As a matter of fact, Goethe probably already hated the original lied, as he didn't even reply to Schubert when the latter sent his setting of Erlkönig to Goethe; it's unlikely to assume he would approve of this version either - which is entirely unrelated to the fact that this is a good transcription in a great performance.
Amazing!!!
That was intense. Brilliant video and performance :)
Now that's how you classic: Stay true to the music, but go nuts in the pictures.
Damn and three quarters... this is freaking EPIC!!
coolest piano music video ever!
This is so beautiful.
This is insane. Absolutely love it.
This is AWESOME!! Absolutely marvelous!! I love it!
Ingenious!!
the beauty of madness..
Hynotic, powerful, perfect playing....magnificent video! Although I sing the 'Erl-Konig', I have to say that I now much prefer this four-hand version. It communicates the fear and the madness, the myth and the delirium... Congratulations!
Потрясающая драматургия, мурашки по коже
EXCELLENT!!
Que angústia!
Bravo!
Crazy premise, epic execution!
amazing !
Yeseeeeerr! Perfect! 🌞🌞
One of the best advertisement video I ever seen.
@absintheangel777 Word, Angel!!! And humor includes understanding dark humor. Kudos to Anderson & Roe and filmmaker Matthew Brown for a feast for the ears AND the eyes.
Amazing
Absolutely COOL vid..DER ERLKONIG is one fav-recently heard it on a #Violin But this is my Absolute Fav #Piano version..🎹🎼🎵🎶🎵 LOVE it.. #AndersonAndRoe
Great work!
Love it! - always great to find gems like this that show it's not music from the Ark, but current as ever. Please make more and come to London (UK) and play ;-)
whoa.
Fantastic duo-piano arrangement that captures the emotional climate and is also musically sensitive, certainly performed to perfection. The arrangement is like Liszt but too faithful to Schubert for Liszt's typical flights of fancy. The video work is terrific.
amazing and scary in one time. grate performance !
Great video! , how creative!....
Holy crap.
Masterpiece of Schubert :)
bravo.
Maravilhoso
impressive and imaginative
That Was a Great Piece! You Guys are amazing! Keep up the Hard Work
this is just amazing :| no words
Wow the video's they make are so specatacular. Love it
Creepy and crazy, I love it!
Amazing! Can't wait for Nov 15th.
PS - Come back to Texas!
WOW!!
Wow~! It'a more likea music video than just playing video. Fresh approach~!
I really love you!!!!!! I've been following you. I can't put my ears beyond you. Kisssssses!
I absolutely love this video. One of the most creative, beautiful and bizzare videos I've ever seen.
more music? Their interpretation was astounding! What are you talking about?
"Sei ruhig; bleibe ruhig mein Kind. In duerren blaettern saeuselt der Wind."
Great shit.
Whattya mean? Roe IS gorgeous!!
more horrifying is the story of Elrkonig, this video totally captures that feeling
Ja, in seinen Armen das Kind war tot!!!!!!Wunderbar gespielt.Ich habe noch nie so etwas gesehen.Ausserordentlich!!!!!!!
I'm having some trouble deciding if this video is hot as hell, or completely messed up.
Love it!
I knew I wasn't the only this has happened to!
@jefftam1234 I actually believe that they made it a four hand duet so they could play it together. If you had watched any of their other videos, you could have realized the both are capable of playing anything they fancy. The song is very stunning, and the four hands brings it to life.
I had to learn the poem in school (I'm German) and so I KNOW that it's about a tree! Read the poem!
I believe it means The Elf King. This piece tells the story of a father rushing his dying son into town to seek medical help. However, they are being chased by the Elf King, or death, and he's slowly convincing the Son to join him in death. It's pretty creepy.
the erl konig.I take it to mean the grim reaper and when he wants you he gets you.
I lol'd. Good job. =)
GUAU!
*Looks at white Yamaha piano, stands up while keeping an eye on it, and runs screaming out of the room*
This is by far the best arrangement of this piece i've ever heard, better than Liszt' one
The piano factory, where all your fears and horrors come true.
@kaishodjs Thanks for the information for those not already familiar with the story!
I aint goin near my Steinway for a while...
How hard to find this video :( but woohoo!
This has a "Hellraiser" feel to it! Instead of a puzzle box, behold!! Pinhead's Steinway!!
