Just purchased this game yesterday! (All these years later) LOL but this video is awesome showing me how I can play this solo! Thank you so much! This was awesome.😊
Found this game at a thrift store and I'm horrible about trying to understand directions from a box....my brain just can't comprehend....videos are super helpful! Thank you!
A few mistakes and some missed moves but a very helpful video. As much as I like watching Will Weaton play your video helped out so much more. Thanks for taking the time to make it for us.
You're right, my wife and I have had great results using this as our gateway game. It took a while to grow on me but I really enjoy it when it hits the table now. Surprisingly, never thought to try solo so was intrigued when I saw your solitaire version. Looks fun!
Very helpful video! Thank you. Explained so much. I will definitely echo the other comment- very challenging to strategize, play multiple hands, and teach a game simultaneously! Great job!
loved this video, I bought this game after seeing it on tabletop. however some rules I couldn't grasp. you explained everything for me.. now I can enjoy the game
Its very difficult to play many positions, keep a good strategy going, AND explain what you are doing to us. Great job at doing this. Don't sweat the errors. The idea is just to give us an idea of the game. ;-)
vanchaser Thanks my friend! I'm still working on successfully splitting my personality around a game board. If nothing else, it's a good mental exercise....
Great game - especially for the family and non-gamers. Agree with Stasia about checking out the variants - we use them a lot. I also am very interested in checking out Forbidden Dessert as I understand it's a step up from this but still very accessible.
Jeff Honnold I haven't played Dessert yet either but I think they are doing it on TableTop this season so I'm looking forward to that. Have heard it is just as fun.
Reminds me of Pandemic game play which I really liked solo...i had to uninstall the app due to playing it too much...the downside of not having the right gaming group.
Very good overview! Turns were skipped, but it'll happen playing as 3 people. Although, I thought if a tile sank underneath a player, that would cause you to start the game over since it counts as a death? You lose if a character dies, both of the same treasure entrances sink, and if Fool's Landing sinks, correct?
Thank you for the play though! Going on a trip alone so I'll take this as my solo game :) Ps really like your voice and way of speaking, it relaxes me :)
Have you seen the variants for this? Check them out here: boardgamegeek.com/filepage/110401/forbidden-island-island-challenge-variants-ms-word if you are interested! I have not tried them yet, but I am looking forward to trying them because they look like they inject more of a challenge to the game.

Thanks for the playthrough!
Just picked this up at my local game shop last week
She talks a lot in the beginning but if you skip a few repeated parts it's worth it! She also explains pretty well.

Great video - I've played the game a few times but found your explanations always enlightening.

Very enjoyable play through! Well done for beating the game, it's not as easy as you made it look :)
Good strategic decisions throughout.
Many thanks Chrissie for replying so positively to my request for a play through. You are awesome :-) I will also check out the variants :-)
Dreamchaser99 You are very welcome! Enjoy your game!

Sorry, if someone brings out Shoots and Ladders I'm diving in! 😂
Have you played Clank In Space?
That game has a great solo camapign (with the help of the smartphone app).
@27:34 you draw a Copper Gate flood card but turn over Cliffs of Abandon instead. :)

Stasia Doster Ohhhhhh! These look awesome. I had no idea they existed. Thanks for pointing me to them Stasia.
No problem! I hope you get a chance to give them a try.
Can this game really be as good as you play it ala solo ? I was told that it is for two plus players.
Thanks in advance.
yes it can be soloed...why not? :)
Quickly intervene 🤣
pls forbidden desert 🙏🙏
do forbidden desert. Plz no comparisons to FI. FD is everything the maker learned from FI.
is there some sort of symbolism to the coloring of your fingernails? I mean they crawl all over the place, it could mean something...
