Hi, it started as a hobby. I built my first van with money saved from working as a cable contractor. My wife and I lived and traveled in that one for around 8 months. Sold it and used the money to purchase and build a new one and repeated the process a few times and tried my best to perfect my skills each time. I still have a ton to learn but I feel I have improved a bit since my first build. You can check out the tour of that one here if you like 👇 ruclips.net/video/7GorsBzQV_0/видео.html I hope my answer helped at least a little bit. Take care and thanks for taking the time to watch my video.
Hi, the company is called Vantech. You will find them in their webpage page under commercial ladder racks. They are the only company I know that makes racks for fiberglass roofs. They are also easy to install. Enjoy your build!
Hi Andrem, not really. Most of time I just draw the area that I am working on a piece of paper and get that part done then do the same for each small part of the van. I am going to start adding it to sketch up from now on though. Thanks for watching and I am glad you liked it. Good luck on your build.
I have an Express van I use for camping and towing a travel trailer but everything is designed to be temporary, even the queen size air mattress bed frame, because there are times I want to use it to transport large items.
That's awesome! I understand, we are currently traveling with our work van now with the blow up mattress and cooler to keep it simple. When we get back home it gets loaded up with all of my work tools and large plywood sheets again. Sometimes I do think about building it out though and just leaving a designated section for my tools and a place for the wood. Maybe in the near future. Thanks for stopping by 🙋🏻♂️
@@woodpeckercraftsandbuilds I used to carry a small bag of tools and test equipment but not anymore. Someone smashed the passenger door window in and stole the tools.
@@2-old-Forthischet aw mann sorry to hear that.. I have an alarm on mine and keep my ear open when I sleep but plan on getting things out of there and organized when I get a bigger garage 🙏
Hahaha, you are right! On this van he will be using a portable AC that he brings along in the summer and removes in the winter. I made him a window hook up similar to Stan the vans set up. This way he can summer it up big foot style... Like this - Check it out ruclips.net/video/4Rw9mJS5lCk/видео.html
I have an ac on my truck. Draws around 600W on high (so, a small AC). I also have a 1300w solar system with 600AH lithium batteries... In the Nevada desert can keep my truck very cool from 12am till 4pm or so, but outside of those hours there is nothing I can do. Now I love my AC, and it literally does wonders, but if you want to stay cool while living in a van and don't want to spend ALOT of money on solar or to stay at campgrounds with electric hookups, go somewhere temperate.
@@simonadams Hi Simon! Sounds like you have an awesome rig! The cost can definitely add up once you start getting in to roof Acs... Best bet is to do as you mentioned, head to the cooler climates in summer or cool off in some of the beautiful Natural springs we have here in Florida! Take care brotha, safe travels!

Thanks Kirsten! Cedar is my favorite ☺️ it helps to bring the feeling of nature to the indoors.
I also have a fiberglass top express. This inspires me to look forward to lots of fun times and tweaks of the layout.
That's awesome! Glad it's giving you some inspiration! Fiberglass tops can be a bit tricky but they make for great builds ☺️

@@r2c479 No problem! I hope they restock soon. Those are good racks.
Did he say what the ceiling was made of?
Ceiling was made with white hardboard from Lowe’s or Home Depot.
Thanks, it looks great!

On all these van build outs nobody ever talks about roof top a/C how do you stay cool in summertime even big foot likes to stay cool

@@simonadams Hi! I live in Arizona and I just wanted to know which Air conditioner brand and model you have?
Could always go with an icy breeze chest cooler A/C. Would compliment the roof fan.
