    Hoping to see more of those. I'd suggest you get better mics and publish those as a podcast as well. I'd be happy to listen to such chats without the visuals as well. Cheers.

      Definitely a learning process and much to improve. For example, this gym was super loud so the audio needed a lot of repair/editing to be usable - should be able to get quieter filming locations in the future and improve recording quality (I hope, haha)

    This was a great vid, thanks for making this! Loved the convo about the value in body comp goals and the pitfalls of long term insufficient effort. I think that’s definitely the zone I’ve fallen into.

    2:30 when you said progressive overload isn't about adding weight week, after week, but it's about staying in the 'proper challenge zone'; that gave me a huge sigh of relief. I've never tracked my weights, sets, or reps. I've always made sure that my sets were sufficiently difficult and stopped my sets when I felt I could no longer generate the same amount of intensity.

    • @alecblenis
      @alecblenis  9 дней назад +1

      Tracking can be useful to make sure you're making progress, but meticulous pre-planned weekly progressions definitely aren't necessary. I don't track every detail these days, I just keep mental tabs on where my main lifts are so I have a sense of if things are moving in the right direction.

    Love to see your content here. I started following you on insta after your collab with Eugene Tao* nut I really prefer long form content as it's easier to accomodate into commuting etc.
    I see you have a bunch of exercise demos in this channel, mixing them with the pods means followers will get both even if they want just one kind. That will in turn hurt the algorithm as engagement will be lower on average, in case you care about such things. (If you really care, there's many simple things that can improve the attractiveness of your content without going into clickbait territory)
    * I was investigating how to train core to help my snowboarding and climbing. Most content I found was "5 minutes of plank variations" style - which made no sense to me given that we don't train other parts of the body that way. Seeing your approach and attitude was really helpful so I was a bit sad that you had no RUclips presence.

    • @alecblenis
      @alecblenis  15 дней назад +1

      Thanks for the feedback! I’m obviously no RUclips expert 😅 You think a separate account for demo videos is a better idea? Tbh though I don’t think I’ll make many more of those

    • @alecblenis

      Kinda made up this variation so I'm not sure there's a formal name but If I had to make one up it'd be a "rolling DB shoulder internal rotation" or "DB shoulder IR (abd to add)"

      @@briancompton2079 not familiar with the first thing you mentioned.
