Rest in peace Charlie. This man has been a part of the Arts in CPS for at least 45 years. A part of the All-City Fine arts program as a CPS student and then as a logistical coordinator ever since. I’m grateful to have known him. The one guy who never said no when you needed help. Never held a grudge and didn’t have a mean bone in his body. Took care of his mom and dogs as well as our most challenging severe and profound special needs students with compassion and empathy during school. Helping with plays, musicals, concerts, heavy lifting and even setting up speakers for meetings and events was his passion. He didn’t care about pay or recognition, he just cared about our productions and being a part of something great. His long term institutional knowledge was invaluable to our school. Someone needs to be held responsible and people in this city need to drive responsibly. I passed by this very corner on the way to getting my instrument fixed and witnessed aggressive driving, cars with tinted windshields and no license plates. Do better Chicago drivers. This man was my friend and an irreplaceable institution to the arts in Chicago Public Schools. He is sorely missed.

It literally looks like he crossed against the light.
The cars closer to the viewer barely slowed down...really late...due to seeing him.
Maybe they didn't see him....
Or thought it was one of the many locals that never care about lights, crosswalks, and usually carry guns...
Sorry for him and his family, and friends.
Everybody needs to be more aware of their surroundings.
Especially, if you are crossing busy streets.
The migrants are unable to read street signs and they have never seen traffic signals before they migrated here. Best if we do not cross the streets until they get permanent housing.
Pedestrians always have the right away. End of story . The fact that your making excuses for the hit and run driver is discusting.

And as far as you pretending that pedestrians always have the "RIGHT-OF-WAY", they don't have the right-of-way if they cross against the light (a crime), are jaywalking, jump out in front of traffic, and various other reasons.
You might want to do some basic legal research, before you make a foll of yourself, because you have no clue what you are trying to make into a law.
@@thefucrew9865 it's not that cut and dry. Yes that is the law technically speaking. If such an accident occurs. When someone is quote unquote jaywalking. You still have the responsibility to yield to them unless you're a sociopath and run them over because you 💬 think you have the right away. Your sadly mistaken, Rambo!!

Don’t matter if you use the cross walk or not. In Chicago the drivers will take you and not stop. It’s sad but the drivers in this city are clearly inhumane.

Migrants do not have addresses. How will they track that migrant that we welcomed here?
