This past Saturday, my sister-in-law passed away. She died peacefully in our home. She had a long battle with cancer and ultimately succumbed to kidney failure as a result. My brother, who was her husband of twenty-two years, is understandably devastated. We all are. It pains me to see it in his eyes. It is in the way he walks. It is even in the way he talks. I feel for him and when this happened, I gave him the first real hug that I've ever given him.
I have had two major defining moments in my life. The first one was when I was in Moab, Utah riding on the side of very steep switch-back and thinking about riding right off of it. I was in a tremendously dark place and I no longer had to desire to live. The thing is, I was in an amazing place with amazing people most of whom I had never met before. We all met on youtube as motovloggers. I broke down and started to cry. The view before me was the most beautiful thing that I have ever seen. I decided that life was indeed worth living and I would push back at the darkness and overcome it. It was hard however, I was triumphant. I have removed that darkness, permanently. Ever since then, going back to Utah is like going back to where I was born.
This second event, the death of our beloved family member right in our home has really put things into another perspective for me. And that perspective is that I am going to treat everyone I encounter as an opportunity. An opportunity to make smile. An opportunity to make laugh and an opportunity to love. I will not worry about what-ifs or what could be. I will no longer let fear of any kind get a hold of who I am. I don't have a lot of fear to start with, but they are there. No, they were there.
Also, taking care of myself has become paramount to my daily life. I have begun the journey for my life. I have taken the first steps and you will all see, in the near future, what I mean.
I am greatly saddened by the loss we've experienced this week. My heart aches for my brother and for myself but I am looking forward to what the epiphanies I've had brings forth.

My deep condolences Curt.. I've been a fan of your channel since I've started my research and interests in watches. I must say that I really liked your videos. We have the same wrist size and your reviews influenced my watch taste a lot. I'm glad that you have so much realizations with all that you've been through this past days. I lost my mum to Cancer it's such a disgusting disease, I hope they find a cure someday, It's great you love watches so much and can keep your mind a little busier at times instead of just zoning out all the time.

Thank you for all that you have done with this channel, you were one of the first watch youtube channels that I stumbled upon while tipping my toes into the world of watches, and researching about my first automatic watch. Being a stranger in the hobby, your channel stood out the most for me because of your very distinctive sense of humour. Never in my life would I have guessed that I would someday be watching someone talk about watches (an act that most people consider to be 'nerdy') while laughing my ass off. Everytime I watch your video after a long day, it just makes my day feel alot more cheerful. The story-telling part is also always interesting to listen to, I really like the dedication that you put into the videos you make, where you sometimes would go on an adventure somewhere in an attempt to fetch a story for us. Im really sorry for what you had to go through, just know that somewhere out there, someone's day had been made because of your videos! : ) Stay strong!

Hey man, very sorry to hear of your loss. Stay strong. I've lost both of my parents over the past few years, my Dad to cancer. Even though they lived good long lives I'm still learning to carry on without them and it's rough at times. Hey Curt, I'm really sorry for your loss. My sincere condolences to your brother, the poor man.
I lost my son Ben to cancer, he was just 3 years old.
Last weekend, I went camping in a beautiful place in Co. Wicklow, Ireland with my son Eoin who is 7. We had an amazing time, at one with nature and I had a similar epiphany. Life is indeed worth living.
I've always said this to you in the comments. There is no doubt that you are 100% yourself in your vids and that's why your fans like you so much.
I'm so glad I came across your content when looking to mod my skx.
Your on the other side of the world mate but we all have to look after ourselves and try to do the right things. That's a universal truth.

I am transforming as a person...as a human. Just five years ago, I was a different man: closed off, scared, feeble and reluctant to make connections. Now, and especially after the loss in our family, I am fully out to live the best life that I can while being the best me possible. I am definitely stronger both mentally and physically. I have let go of my fears. I have grown my heart and a lot of it has to do with this channel and people like you so thank you, from the bottom, middle and top of my heart.

I have never been stronger, I think. Life beats us down but if we use that energy and turn it around into positivity, great things can and will happen! I am taking a step back from trying to pump out videos as much as I can to instead make them better and not so forced. This video is an example. I just let myself be myself. Appreciate you & the boys posting a video, really makes my day. Love that tune at the end from your Japan video. Since seeing it I've had actual ramen (YuM) twice--once in the Philippines (with my cousin which was great) and once in L.A. (by myself which reminded me how blessed I am to have a few great people in my life...Sorry if that's corny). Whenever we do that trip to Japan ($$$?) , I will definitely let you know.

I’m a big fan of this series. I actually have this on the Seiko Bracelet. Gnoman was selling them separately and I picked one up. It also has the diashield coating.
As I’m sure you are aware, Seiko is raising there prices. I saw that they recently released the Darth 62MAS, Gnoman has it for $985. I’m not crazy about it and will be passing.
Gosh, so many people are commenting about how they've lost someone to cancer. Something must be done. We need to take better care of ourselves and others. We have to take care of this world. Seeing your comment and others has me literally in tears right now. I feel for every single one of you. We're all in this life together. We might as well make it count!
Seiko has to do what they have to do. I don't blame them in this difficult economic climate but it doesn't mean I have to like it :p Cheers, man.

Thank you for the great review from a couple years ago. Watch is beautiful, looks well made. If ONLY it had blue lume to match the dial. Must be me, but there's always one or two things that keep me from buying Prospex. If the PADI had just green for the minute and pip.. . Ugh! So close.

I just wanted to let you know that I absolutely resonate with your words of treating every person you meet as an opportunity. I lost my younger sister to sepsis earlier this year and it is this mentality along with the support of my loved ones that are helping me get through this tough time. I hope the same is true for you. I got this watch today JDM version. When I first unbox it. Wasn't impressed. When I unwrapped it. Set the date and time. My mind was changed. It is stunning. By far superior to other divers I have from Seiko. And only thing close I have is my Orient Triton. Wearing it on the provided rubber strap. Comfortable. One of the most comfortable watches I own. Don't care for Seiko's bracelets. In the future when Strapcode makes a model specific bracelet. May switch.
Does anyone know if Seiko makes a blue rubber strap that fits this watch?
I wear mine mainly on nato straps.

That is one gorgeous watch! That said it is just way too expensive to pay for a Seiko!!! I won't buy anymore cheaper Seikos either because they aren't worth the money anymore and they are just plain out very low quality now! That is a beauty though.
Very low? I don't think they are very low. None of my Seiko's have any issues except for the ANNOYING misaligned chapter ring situations that often arise lol.
