Anyone who's taken an undergraduate philosophy course in skepticism should see through such fallacious nonsense.

B: "Well, I've explored my room thoroughly with my hands, and I can't feel any invisible objects."

See, you’re making a reasoned analogy, and I can understand how this applies to the problematic (at best) evidence for God theists offer.
This interviewee’s responses approach a level incoherence I haven’t heard since I last listened to Intelligent Design “arguments.” Unlike your analogical dialogue, the interviewee’s elliptical discourse on God’s hidden nature skirts the issue of how theists move the goalposts when they give logical evidence for their god.

This is applying plain good commonsense to understand, but if you had already chosen the dark side, good commonsense would mean nothing to you....

• The only way people can "freely" believe something is through faith
I believe a thing when I have reasonable trust in those making the claim. Or if sufficient evidence is presented to support the claim. I do not believe until I believe, leaving that as my only method of coming to believe. The reason I don't do that is because that can lead me to believe literally anything at all. I don't wish to believe just anything at all. I want to believe as many true things and reject as many untrue things as I reasonably can.
You would have to demonstrate that people have a soul and start by defining what the hell a soul is.

Also, there are plenty of reasons to trust faith in Creator, and one of these reasons is the existence of your supernatural consciousness or awareness free to choose - not driven by neurons like a robot.

The burden of having a good argument isn’t on the atheist, it’s on the believer in God.
It also depends on the ontological principle and argument put forth by the believer or the atheist. This argument will go on and on.
In genereal theists have an extra burden of proof because they are postulating an extra entity but that doesn't mean atheists don't have a burden of proof. With burden of proof here I mean burden of evidence and argumentation, and both sides have that burden, unless you suspend judgement on the issues, and yet you would have a burden of justifying your suspension of judgment.
I could have a mystical experience in which god appears that would be plenty of proof. The sort of proof you ask is not realistic.

There is not any empirical, demonstrative, and testable evidence. As far as logic goes, the definitions of gods by various religious materials, disprove omnipotence, omnibenevolence, and omniscience, by contradiction. I redefined Atheism to refine and correct the definition to make it accurate. I should not and will not concede that the theist view is correct, and I just choose not to believe. The burden of proof does not lie with the atheist.

Yeah, presuppose Devine Goodness despite all evidence of the contrary. When it’s convenient, claim that God is good (based on our human understanding of love and how we behave towards those we love) but claim that God’s s love is a mystery and unlike human love, when God’s behavior contradicts everything we know about what it’s like to love someone. Again, like Daniel Dennet once put it: “this is playing tennis without the net.” These people are not intellectually honest.
What evidence of the contrary? What evidence do you have?
The theist nominal claim is God is ALWAYS good. This is because God is the source of everything good and true and is also omniscient. Knowing everything exhaustively and completely and from before time till the end of time. We are the subjective interpreters of good as we are mortal, finite and incapable of omniscience and so therefore unqualified to definitively articulate with any sort of ulitimate authority what ultimate good is or looks like beyond deferring to God himself. Of course that’s the fundamental problem with mankind, we do not want to submit to authority beyond ourselves and want to do what is right in our own eyes despite having incomplete knowledge of what is ultimately right or good. Yes most of us have a moral compass of sorts but even they need external influence much as a compass needs the magnetic flux of the earth. People do not want to acknowledge they are deeply influenced by these external forces and yet those forces are not ultimate in authority either. Rather they are local forces instead of universal. The point being we are in a sea of relativity and God as the moral and authoritative source of good is the best reference point even if we in our human form can only subjectively reference ourselves from God. Our own perception of God can also influence our understanding of God and hence why so many people arrive at different interpretations of God’s goodness and love but that is a human issue, not a question of whether God is good or not.

Now apply this line of thinking to yet another claim made by fallible humans: -- God is always good-- You have no standing from which to make that claim by your own argument.
Furthermore, If you look around you with no presupposition, does it suggests that There is an omnibenevolent God? It doesn't. Then it is not reasonable to posit that God is all good. Why make unnecessary, grandiose presuppositions.
The further claim "God is the source of all good," which you seem to have made in order to support the previous claim that God is all good is, in effect, the first claim rephrased. You can't possibly substantiate such a claim.

@MrSidney9 so because God doesn't choose to wipe out every one of us therefore God isn't good? You do realize that if God enacted justice every moment that no onewould survive correct? This is why He is also long-suffering and waiting for us to come to Him for forgiveness so that He can maximize the number of those saved by His free gift. He paid the penalty that all of us rightly deserve and proved He was God by resurrecting and thus sparking the actions of the apostles to go to their deaths for what they say they witnessed. It's your choice to either accept what they have testified to or not. If you do not you are not condemned for not believing but for every sin you committed. So it's up to you if you want to take the risk.

The proof you are looking for seems to be like limiting music to the individual pieces of sounds whereas another more correct way in this case is not a scientific deduction but rather a tacit trust in the collectivity of sounds and then you actually hear the music. So, an example you can do is to hammer a nail in the wall. Look the way you are doing at the hammer and try to hit the nail, then, trust in the hammer without being able to prove it by looking at it and look only at the nail. You will find that your trusting in the hammer tacitly will work so much better than your way of proving the hammer by looking it at. Give it a go. I don’t get that at all. Rather it’s an acknowledgment of the limitations of humanity, our senses, wisdom and ability to be final arbiters on what is truth and love. I think the beauty of “closer to the truth” videos is they do entertain big questions and aren’t afraid to look at arguments against the existence of God. Many Christians I know welcome being challenged by big questions and ideas as they are often faith affirming. I have questions I cannot answer too but that is not unlike life in general, what we believe to be true and the realisation over time that we will never have all the answers. Even in classic physics there are very clever people who do not agree on big issues and none of them understand all branches of physics completely which make up the fundamentals they hold as basic physics truths yet they still trust them. People aren’t as black and white as many like to think they are.

Your story clearly shows the fatal flaw of the argument that guy used. It is flaming hot garbage. Surely an almighty, perfectly loving god, could come up with ways to accomplish its perfectly good goals without allowing children to undergo abuse. Firstly we are only hearing your side of the story so we have no clue if anything you said was warranted. Secondly, no one has it easy. We all have things to go through and struggle with. One of the reasons I’ve held onto the idea of there being a higher power is because it has helped me with emotional detatchment, setting limits for myself, and being more forgiving. Because I struggle to forgive, believing that something out there has my best interest in mind and therefore I do not have to stay angry and keep fighting has helped me enormously. “Someone or something else can take care of them.”

One of my problems with these two counter-arguments is the following:
A. Assume that there is a god and he/she is beyond our understanding capabilities as human beings.
B. Assume that he/she loves us in his/her particular way that is outside of our understanding. Because if it is understandable by our concept of love, eventually there must not be any contradiction in any part of it from our point of view, because the god is the ultimate lover and also understandable. But we find contradictions in it and that's the cause of the argument about god's love being ultimately unfathomable.
C. Therefore, we as humans will have no way of getting to find out whether god loves us or not, because god's love is not comparable to what we can know of love and by definition, it's out of reach of human understanding altogether. Hence we all must be agnostics about gods love.
The same goes for the existence of god.

Consistently Pray for forgiveness, guidance in a good (positive) direction, and for help against evil. Pray to be saved from hell (whatever that may be). Pray for your friends and your family too, it only takes a minute or so/less at a time to pray. Do it and your life will slowly get better, or maybe quickly. It probably just depends on you and the kind of person you are/have been. Don't wait until its too late and you have to suffer the consequences of built up bad karma from immoral acts/unrepented sins. Maybe together we can help make the world a better place by changing ourselves for the better, and changing things around us for the better.

Since the universes in the multiverse are likely infinite, the various configurations/characteristics of the individual universes are consequently infinite.
if I have understood correctly, there will be universes similar to ours, even identical except for one proton more or less, others in which the laws and constants of physics are different, others so strange to be indescribable, and so on.
All conceivable (and inconceivable?) universes could/should exist, could/should have existed, or will come into existence.
So.... could there exist a universe with such rules and characteristics as to be compatible with the rise of a sentient, omnipotent, eternal, infinite Entity capable of transcending the limits of space, time, the boundaries and the laws of its own universe and even dominating the very fabric of the multiverse? Is it conceivable? Is it possible? Is it likely? Is it.... inevitable?
Is there any physical law, or mathematical law, or probabilistic law, that prevents (i.e. qualifies as impossible, probability = 0) the birth of such a universe (if we assume the multiverse theory to be truth, of course).
I would say no.
And if it the probability is > 0, is inevitable that such universe and such Entity will sooner or later occur in the context of an eternal rise of infinite possibilities In the context of the multiverse
So one of the best argument against god would be the uniqueness of our universe. Which however seems to contradict some of the best and most authoritative interpretations of the physical equations/laws we possess.

@@Graewulfe if the "strong multiverse theory" is true, I would say yes. Unless there is some kind of maths that forbids that kind of universe within an infinite multiverse.
Personally I don't find the multiverse theory particularly compelling or fascinating.
Saying the universe is fine tuned and a god is responsible is something I haven’t seen any theists support.

I'm Roman Catholic by birth and up bringing. The excuses for hiddenness, evil etc are made up nonsense. There are no good explanations. Humans suffer for a greater good known to God? Why would an all powerful knowing loving God allow that? or even better why would such a God do that? Total cop out is that its beyond our comprehension. If it is, then God made us that way. Speaks poorly of God.
there are no argument FOR atheism, atheism is a nothing, i'm atheist (and always have been) because of what YOU believe, i have no opinion about god at all, god has always been a myth in my world.
what is it about atheists that scare religists though, we have no rules you have to follow, we have no book you have to learn chapter and verse, there's no atheist hell (unless it's spending an afternoon in a library doing ACTUAL research) and for the most part humanists advocate for ALL religions to be heard, so i can only imagine you envy our freedom and lack of fear of a god who - if he did exist - would be the most immoral presence in the galaxy.
