Another succinct guide to two very useful Notion features. I'm a month or two into this journey and have been wondering about rollups. Great. Thanks again
Thank you for explaining just what I needed and in a way that I could understand the process. This is the video that will finally make Notion databases work for my needs.
as an autistic person, your tutorial is the only one that i can grasp and understand without feeling confused! please don’t ever stop posting notion tutorials 🥹
I want to thank you for this AMAZING and fruitful explanation.❤ I'm new to Notion and always needed clarification with Relations and Rollup properties but you've made them easy by now. Thank you SO much. Keep going.❤❤❤
You should be able to use the recurring template feature - make sure on the template that you fill out all of the details including the amount, date and expense category. For the date, just select the 'Today' option. With recurring templates, they only generate on the day itself so if you put the date as 'Today', it will actually just replace it with whatever the date is on the day that the template repeats. I just tested it on my version and it's working!
Yes! You'll need to add a relation first but then you can set up a rollup. Just select the formula property in the rollup and set the 'calculate' setting to 'show original'. :)
Please can you explain how to make relation between country and City. If i choose country then city of selected country should show. In my case it is showing all country and all city always. But I want to show city on selected country. Please guide me to do this or send some url related to this implemention.
I think you'll need to use a rollup to do that. Add a relation first and select the country. Then add a rollup and ask it to pull through the city property :)

Question, how do I make the expenses come every month without me retyping. I did a test using the template and recurring but it doesn't work.

Great Tutorial!
I have a question:
Can I transfer outputs of formulas from one database to another via rollup?
Yes! You'll need to add a relation first but then you can set up a rollup. Just select the formula property in the rollup and set the 'calculate' setting to 'show original'. :)
Wow that's awesome thanks.
No problem! Glad you liked it :)
In this case, if you were adding a new book (with a new author), would you first add the author into the author's database and then add the book?
Yes, I'd probably add the author first
Does this work across different pages? I am assuming it does.
Yes it does! 😊
Can u pls make one abt notifications center
Sure, I'll add it to my list! :)
