As the Clone forces arrive planetside led by Master Yoda, their objective is two-fold. The main Republic spearhead must push back the separatist army and destroy the CIS headquarters, but to end this war before it begins, Count Dooku must be captured.
Latest intel puts Dooku deep behind enemy lines, potentially preparing for EVAC. With the surviving Jedi forces, still being re-deployed from the arena, the task falls to Captain Rex and the men of the 501st regiment to buy them some time. This is the Republic’s chance to shut down this conflict and maintain peace and order throughout the galaxy. The burden may fall to a just few good men, but the force is with them.

I've wanted to get into Legion for a while now, this is the first video I've seen of people actually playing the game. This was probably the best first video i could have ever seen. The amount of love and thought that went into this is incredible. Great job and Cheer from Canada!

Just admiring the hard work that's gone in at so many levels to make this, lots of detailed minis, a hand-built board, a narrative style campaign pack created, 4 days of gaming, and so much effort to make sure the editing was on point. When the Rolly Bois came on all I could think about was the Battlefront 2 trailer where the clone commander says "Zone clear" and all of a sudden Darth Maul appears and he shouts "not clear, not clear!!!"

Forgot to mention that the clone troopers also benefit from a courage boost stratagem! Sorry if that was causing any confusion with suppression haha! I'll ammend the campaign pack and remember to talk about in the next video!

The Droid AAT is my favorite legion model so far and would love to see it in action. I’ve painted mine up but haven’t had the opportunity to field it yet. Can’t wait for the STAPs!
I loooooove the AAT and it'll definitely appear inthe campaign but it might not be till part three, some even more exciting droid units might be though..... ;)
I would love to see the B2 battle droid's and maybe even some of the Homebrew Units, (even if you dont use them, I love this as is.) I would also love to see them Arcs!]

I really enjoyed this battle report, it kinda reminds me from the ones that Play on Tabletop channel do for 40k but with a more narrative twist that fits perfectly to the campaign. I think you found your style with this video and you worked really hard to make it great. Can't wait for the next.

Incredible video, Lachie! The editing is out of this world with the little cinematic excerpts for dramatization!! Also, I really enjoyed the blend of the cards and the more traditional tabletop mini rules in SW Legion. I wonder if a similar system could be implemented for Middle Earth sbg to make it more interesting and eventful
Yeah I really like that about LEgion it feels so different because of it's card mechanics, keep me really fresh between 40k, SBG and legion they're all soo different!

This is the best battle rep I've ever seen, also as someone who's never played Legion but is interested, you made the game understandable even for someone who dosen't have a grasp on the rules at all.

Can someone explain why he didn't use all his shield tokens at 57:12?
As far as I can tell, there is no benefit to saving shields for later. You either take the chance with the dice now, or you take the chance with the dice later.
But if you use the shields first, you have a chance to regenerate them, and your droidekas will last for longer on average.
Unless there's something I'm missing?
Also, I didn't catch if it's a special rule you're playing, but when it's a roll off for initiative, it should be shields for one player, and surge/blanks for the other. That makes it 50/50 and it what it says to do in the RRG.

As for the droideka's although there's no difference mathmatically, Jacko knew that as he regen'd one per turn, leaving a couple unspent wouldn't ever limit his shield regen, because they would all be used well before that. As for the advantage, Jacko basically didn't want to reveal his hand to early, so by taking more saves earlier and keeping his shields in the bank if he got lucky on the dice roll, next turn the droidekas would have the best of both worlds, more shields and less wounds, which would make me not want to bother targetting them with a split attack pool as I wouldn't be able to finish them off with one or two heavy weapons so I'd have to choose to shoot with the entire squad or not bother attacking them.
Obviously that plan would have back fired if the dic e went against him, but he got above average on the dice :)
This is the best battle I've seen on RUclips. Other guys do a great job describing their turns and tactics, but you've hit the mark1 Please keep it going!

I must admit I know next to nothing about this game. I play warhammer but my best friend was mentioning being interested so when youtube recommended this I thought I'd have a look. You guys are clearly big fans and the passion made it loads of fun to watch despite being at sea with the rules. So great work, I think I'll show this to some of my gaming buddies and my friend as well. Also liked the sound effects and scenes ^^

Lets start with the negative: You made a small rules mistake, when you used 2 shield tokens instead of the heavy cover rule which resulted in 1 droideka dying which couldve changed the fate of cpt. Rex. This triggers my CIS-lover heart a bit.
That aside, i LOVED your battle report. Geonosis battle was always one of my favorite and a campaign on this lvl of production value is jsut a pleasure to watch. LOVE the Oldschool battlefront sounds, LOVE the story driven and canon inspired battle scenario and you two are chill dudes. Cant wait for more!
PS. 4 Days of work, holy shit huge respect for that!
Actually my dude, we filmed it wrong on camera, but we fixed his shield tokens before he was shot next :) but we DID get suppression with the droidekas a bit wrong which could have impacted the game!! But we promise to be better next time!

holy moly! Its crazy how much effort good quality yt content is... And no probs regarding the rules m8, im jsut a huge CIS fanboy and that is why it triggered me a bit^^. But in general i prefer games to be a fun experience, and this one definetly was one.

I'm confused did I miss the part where you ruled out AI attack? Droids who aren't issued an order at the start of the round have to use their first action to attack. They can't aim first if their token is drawn from the stack.
Yeah a couple of times Jacko forgot but most ofnthe time he attacked first when he didn't have a token I'm pretty sure :)
I love how this battle report kept me engaged, usually I hate watching battle reports but this ones unique. Great job! Also the sound effects were awesome, love the ones from the good old Battlefront 2!

This was just an amazing overall experience! Loved the mix of "normal" batrep, some scenic dice rolls/takedowns and some more narrative. A nice balance, awesome immersion, fun and thematic campaign. Looking forward to more and thanks for making something as time consuming as it is awesome :)

Okay. I have been waiting for this video since you announced it, I think at the turn of the new year. Amazing quality. Great job with all the editing, very seamlessly done. I only have 1 point of order, since most of the others points were actually taken care of throughout the video, gameplay wise. 1. Suppression does play a major part in the game, but didn't seem to be much of a factor here, note I did not read the campaign book. Droids aren't affect until beyond their leaders courage value unless out of the courage bubble. Everyone else, suppression can determine how many actions you are actually able to do in a turn. Lastly, droids aren't affect but the benefit of suppression, cover, all other factions are though. Again, great video. I cannot wait for the next one.

Yeah I forgot to mention that the clones have increased courage in this scenario as a stratagem, so their all courage 2, to represent how brave they are suicidally charging the breach. But don't worry, Count Dooku will make short work of that courage in installment two!! We just wanted a different feel with lots of run and gunning.

I love this! The board/model quality, the blending of animation and real life models looks great, and I love the use of the cinematic black bars to change the aspect ratio!
My only constructive criticism I think would be a use of timestamps in the video to allow for quickly time-skipping for people with less time on their hands to watch the full video (so, a turn by turn division, as well as separate timestamps for the "cinematic" breakdowns of each section)!

Nice battle report! I'm a warhammer 40k player and this was a game I really want to get into one day, both games have surprisingly common game rules, personally I think 40ks rules make a bit more sense and feel more.."realstic?" If that makes sense. For instance Rex has two pistols yet he makes three dice rolls. In 40k if you fire a basic boltgun you make one shot but if you get within half of the weapons range that gun makes two shots, which personally makes more sense since your basically firing a rocket gun at point blank. Over all it was nice too watch and see what this game really was all about and I would watch another battle report of this game
Yeah Legion has a bit more of a card game/wargame feel because it's my FFG, but I actually really enjoy the different style of mechanics, keeps it fresh when you're playing different systems :)

I’m new to the wargaming scene and miniatures. Legion is my first go at it and I love it so far. I’ve got to say that your painting tutorials are absolutely amazing and helpful so thanks for that. Although I would like to see a Captain Rex tutorial since he’ll probably be my next addition.

Super late to the party but wow, best batrep I've seen in a very long time. I've recently been in a major hobby slump, not painting or hobbying in months but 20mins into this campaign I cracked out my Stormtroopers and haven't stopped painting all the way through. Very well played, very well filmed, very well explained and fantastic editing. Now onto the next bat reps!
