I have a USB drive configured with a HiveOS worker called "new rig". When I setup a new rig, I add it in the UI. Then I boot the new hardware from that USB drive and then use the dd command to clone the USB drive image on the local drive of the new rig. Once done, I reboot the new rig from its hard drive and use the firstrun command to assign the new ID / password. This way I never have to flash a new drive ever again. The dd command looks like dd if=/dev/sdb of=/dev/sda bs=10M count=800 status=progress Please be careful and make sure you are using the right device names. if= is the source (usb drive) of= is the target Also please note that since dd copies the file system, the local hard drive will have a virtual size matching the USB drive.
I switched over to Hive to have better control over multiple rigs. Love it! Your tutorial made the switch super easy. Love the "Popular Presets" for the over\underclocking!!
hey, im having issues flashing the image on to a USB or hard drive the USB is 16 GB and it states "something went wrong. If it is a compressed image, please check that the archive is not corrupted. The writer process ended unexpectedly" The same issue happens with my Seagate 80GB HDD. pls help
Hi. New miner here (extremely GREEN 🙂)! Question, should I get started in WIndows 11 first? Which is better and why? I know Hive OS is $3.99 per rig per month. Not sure I have that . Do you have any videos on mining in Windows and the softare utilized? Please let me know and thanks in advance for any infomation you can help with.
Hey i just fixed my issue if after you intialized and mount your disk and u try to flash it on eitcher it just failed and then your disk change to no intialize then u need to check your virus & threat protiction shut it down or let access to the folder/file
Im new to mining I'm having a hard time getting my mining rig started. Trying to Mine nexa and dynex on hiveos..on the dash able to recognize both rigs and gpus but say No hashrate can you help me out? Thx so much!
Hey @red fox crypto, quick question. I setup my first hiveos and flight tsheet today. After getting it mining I turned it off to install a kill o watt, and now I hit the rocket and it says successful, but doesn't mine. I'm completely ignorant on the subject so hoping you maybe know why. Thanks
Quick question, Once you send the The flight sheet to the moon, how long it will take for you to see the Hashrate in the screen. my doesn't show the hashrate yet

@RedFoxCrypto I’ve seen a couple of tutorials on RUclips that say they get slightly lower hashrate on all their cards using HiveOS. Have you noticed that in your situation?
Hi, Red Fox. I was following your tutorial. Without a GPU, my rig (rebtech) can be detected online, by ethernet cable. BUT after adding the 1st GPU, the rig can not get online. Have you had this issue?
Hi everyone, I downloaded HiveOS to an SSD by copying the ZIP file, and using BalenaEtcher to flash it to the drive. Also put my rig.config onto the drive. When I turn on my rig, a blue screen flashes with the option for HiveOS, but then the screen goes black and my monitor goes into power saving mode. What am I doing wrong here?
I used macOS to flash HiveOS image to a USB stick; but needed Windows to be able to write the rig.conf file to it afterwards. Natively, macOS has read-only to the file system.

What happens if u can't change the letter after install? Nothing is on top of the menu.

ssd or hdd are better for my experience. I had 3 USB and 2 failed within 6 months.

The boot up screen looks about the same but when I typed in "wifi" it gave me different commands
