I was using Windows/T-Rex/Afterburner/GPU-Z before but was recommended HiveOS from my fellow mining friends and i'm very impressed with how easy it is to use and configure on a new SSD, after using a Windows set up for the last 6 weeks.

@@gabiitou no windows, you just flash hiveos to a SSD drive, there are GPU drivers from NVIDIA for Ubuntu
Wow I can't stop thanking you. This HiveOS tutorial was the best and almost (no kidding) the only video I found updated regarding how to properly run HiveOS from Scratch. You should run a Patreon for donations

I’m a noob building my first rig, if I use HiveOS to OC the GPUs do I still need to mod the BIOS?
Thank you!! It depends on which gpu! For 5700 XTs yes, you can do it the same way we mentioned in this video for the last additional tips

Brilliant info once again. I used this guide to get my mixed gpu rig up and running. I was using Windows 10 before. This is soo much easier having a Web panel. No more using RDP. Personally I prefer videos of this length. It allows you to give as much information as possible, which is very handy if you've never used OS before.

Load average is the amount of work the CPU is doing (number of jobs in run queue) averaged over 1, 5 and 15 min.

This tutorial is now out of date, there are so many changes to the way its setup. I.e HIVEOS software now has its own flashing tool + adding workers results in you being sent to the download page.

Hey dude, could you give me cost benefit analysist for beginner miner from zero? I mean, it looks complicated. I just don't know if it's worth ofmy time and money.
Check the mining build examples I have in the rig playlist. It will give you a good idea but ofc reflect to today's prices it will cost.more and yield more money
If you don't have the time to calculate whether or not something is worth your time and money, then its not for you.

Great tutorial. I love your channel and website. Keep it up! I did get stuck on a the Hive OS install of all things and here is how I got it working.
Flashing Hive OS: for whatever reason when I used Etcher I could never get the usb to be bootable. Drove me crazy. Finally used Rufus and it worked. For both when I was finished flashing I ejected and plugged back in my usb drive. That led to Windows saying I had two additional drives separate from my usb that needed to be formatted. I can only think that because the flash partitions the usb Windows saw it as multiple drives. Also, I had to use disk part in the cmd prompt to erase all of these partitions and re-flash the usb.

Thanks mate. New to mining and this was the only video I needed to navigate install and setup for HiveOS. The troubleshooting part was also supremely useful and succinct. Worth the 35min watch
ran into some trouble with using the GPU image to load the system, it couldn't detect let alone gather Rig and PW details from the rig.conf file but ended up flashing with BETA image. It also didn't detect the rig.conf but just entered it manually and all seems fine.

@@MiningChamber hav e you ever seen any issues with the boot drive (240 sata SSD) not be recognised after the rigs been powered down? just turned everything off to tweak the frame and setup and when I tried turning back on it wouldnt recognise the boot drive

Good video dude, helped me out and gave me good info - I decided to trying Hiveos because i was getting only 11Mh on my rx 570 on phoenix eth miner and Hiveos let me do around 19.

Again you have nailed it, I was looking through various videos on how to get an OS setup. I decided Hive OS would be best for me, of all the videos (I spent hours) I watched yours was the most conclusive and I actually feel I can set up a system based on your instructions. No waffle, all organised into sections your videos will be my virtual assistant in getting this project running. No need to pay someone to build and install! One question I have, what do you think of the BTC S-37 Chinese all in one mining board for a starter rig? KEEP UP THE STELLAR WORK!!! @@MiningChamber no problem, I was going to ask. In Hive OS, can you set each card on a rig to mine a different coin?As you may have various cards which are most profitable at different algorithms? Or can you only do one algorithm/wallet on the whole rig? cheers

Great tutorial! I tried to set up mining on Ubuntu and CentOS and boy was that a pain. Had issues installing Nvidia drivers and black screens before I could even start mining.

If you add in Setup Miner Config for Phonenix / Extra Config Arguments following options:
-coin %COIN%
-rxboost 1
-straps 1
You will get slightly better hash rates - similar to your Windows ones.
Oh awesome! Although for rxboost they have a built in one ("ref") or something like that. But definitely good point!!
