If by performance you mean less traversal stuttery, it's just the nature of UE5 itself, so you might be waiting for quite sometime until Epic fix their game engine.
Great video! Thanks for the version comparison. Too bad performance is still unsatisfactory in my opinion. Its been almost two months since the release, and stutters and framerate dips are still there.
Hi. I forgot something ( since I haven't played for a long time), in which place do I need to write the necessary commands in order for the ray reconstruction function to work? And what kind of commands do I need to write? Or is it no longer relevant?
to be fair , the last patch didnt seem to have any focus on performance, mostly bug fixes and changes, like the breathing walls, lets hope for a major update performance wise
The game does not indicate anywhere that it recognizes the PS5 Pro, nor is there any mention of a dedicated Pro graphics mode. In quality mode, the game runs at 30 FPS, and the difference in graphics between performance and quality modes is significant. The performance mode offers downgraded graphics quality but runs at approximately 50 FPS. The game still has artifacts and glare issues. On my second console, a regular PS5, these problems are absent. Overall, there is a strong impression that the game has not been optimized for the Pro format. In other words, you don’t gain any advantage over the standard PS5 but instead encounter artifacts like glare and flickering. A good example of PS5 Pro optimization is God of War: Ragnarok, where the quality mode provides better graphics than on the PS5 and reaches 90 FPS. Another example is The Callisto Protocol, which features a balanced mode with 40 FPS, ray tracing, and the option to select an updated black color tone. This game clearly has not been optimized for the PS5 Pro. Does anyone know what will be included in patch 1.06?
@@LiveSmileD I am not very familiar with PS5 but they added new upscaling method in PS5 Pro, so artifacts you are getting are probably because of that, it should get better over time like upscalers on PC did but will take time.
It's all bug fixes in the latest patch, so I would not expect any performance improvements. Not like Bloober ever improved on it in their previous games, so why change the tradition now. There is a good video on YT, that describes why UE5 is so heavy, and why Silent Hill 2 Remake is heavy. It's a nice watch. One big culprit is that the game is rendering high quality assets, in places that you can never see them. Same with LUMEN in spots outside of your game view. It really drags performance down. Among other things that Bloober could have done better programming wise, but they never even tired. But ppl will forget about this quick anyway. Soon the 5000 series will launch, where 400$ class GPU's will handle UE5 games better at 2k. And ppl will write Steam reviews "Run great on my 5060, don't understand all the negative reviews for bad performance". At least I can always laugh at the David Duchovny's face on Angela. Btw you should check how her original remake artwork looked like. She was so attractive, which makes senes why she was abused. But with the David Duchovny's face model, they should have just changed her story to being laughed at school. Still, at least they are fixing the bugs. So there is that. I don't think that the stutter will ever be fixed tho. It was there in UE4 games, and it's gonna stay here. Plus it's not like it's only a unreal engine problem. Dead Space Remake was running on frostbite, and the game had ton of stutters. Unity Engine can have them as well in certain games. Lucky for me that I'm not as sensitive to them, when they are not super intrusive.
@@asahira7834 I am not sensitive to stutters either but in this game they are long and intrusive, also occur a lot though decrease after you have gone through the area once.
I was reading it seriously and couldn't agree more just before the "Angela's face" point. This is just pathetic. For father or any other man to be abusive against kids or girls like her, these kids don't need to be even really pretty or prettier than other kids. Not every beautiful girl gets abused by her father, and not every girl that gets abused is somehow "prettier" than other girls. And even besides that, you want her to be more "attractive" from YOUR point of view, for YOUR eyes, because you are playing the game and you're judging her looks here (we all judge by our standards, even when these standards coincide among some groups of people), while she is still a minor in the game (16-17, according to the "making of silent hill 2"). I get that some folk don't like Mary Jane from the new spiderman, or protagonist from new ND ip. But this is even worse than "why Ellie in the part 1/remaster looks different/ugly?". She's not only just a kid, her whole story is about child abuse, and people like you want her to be more "attractive" goddammit...
