Seriously… the fact that the video needs to be slowed down in order for people to notice ghosting goes to show not many will notice it at all. Shimmering for sure is a thing and blurring really depends on base resolution and implementation. I’ve used FSR on marvels midnight suns and it did a pretty decent job.

I have Ryzen 5600x + 32GB ram+ rtx 3060ti and play at 1440p. I see texture medium + dlss balance don't help, in this settlement I have 7.8GB vram and drop fps to 7fps due too much vram. I don't see more fps, rather lower than before, I must use dlss balance now or performance. This game is unplayable now, my friend has few crashes after patches on the same gpu as mine, but better cpu.

It still runs much better than the performance mode on a Series X. You can make a mix of High/Medium settings on a 3070, and enjoy a mostly 60 fps experience with 1440p/DLSS Q-B. So you get better graphics and performance over the only console release. Considering that the majority of Steam players are on a 3060/4060. You are still getting a "Premium" experience with a 3070. Just wish it had more Vram. But they did promise to patch it more, so you can hope that in few months, it's gonna run even better. Plus you can also combine DLSS with FG from AMD here. So if you can tolerate FG latency increase, you get a even better experience. But only "if" you can tolerate it:D.

Oh my gosh 17% down in performance for the Epic DLSS Q setting, that's just crazy. I've just updated the game, but this does make me switch to playing something else until they've fixed it for real hehe 😀

ayayay.. i think its time for me to upgrade next year my GPU, 8 GB vram is holding the 3070 so much back :( sadly i think i will wait for the new GPU's and the GTA 6 system requirements/videos with the 3070 in 1440p, lets hope for the best

Great work ! I do wonder how do F and E compare at ultra performance 4K : while the render resolution is the same as the performance preset tested here in this video at 1440p, i do wonder how E handles high scaling ratios and if it breaks down if there are too many pixels to reconstruct.

Please make sure, 2160p60 is selected in youtube video settings. *Comparison 1* - 00:07 - Preset E gives sharper image, F has more oil painting look to it. At 00:16 you can also see that preset F has loss of detail in the tiny tree branches (the tree on the right side of electrical pole) while E is doing comparatively better. Overall also image is more clean with E. Water in pond and also reflections in it look better with E. *Comparison 2* - 00:36 - At 720p render results are similar, F again has more loss of detail in comparison to E, preset E can be thus used even at 1440p DLSS Performance or 1080p DLSS Quality. *Comparison 3* - 00:59 - TSR is not very good in the game, in movement it can turn objects to grainy dots, tiny branches with TSR are mostly gone, electric wire is also struggling, XeSS in it's DP4a form (non Intel GPU) has muddy look like Preset F but is preserving detail better than TSR. FPS is lower though with XeSS. Anyone with no access to DLSS should go with XeSS. *Comparison 4* - 01:28 - Comparison of DLSS E and XeSS, main difference here is tree to the right of electric poll, DLSS is preserving more detail (also check at 01:59), water in pond also has more clean look (01:52), reflections in pond are muddy with XeSS. *Comparison 5* - 02:05 - Small comparison to show how TSR improves by increasing render resolution. *Comparison 6* - 02:27 - Preset E is handling electric wire better even at 720p render, also the small bush to the right of wire is better detailed in movement with preset E. *Comparison 7* - 02:57 - At quality mode both improve but otherwise similar result, at 03:20 however you can see that electric poll has jagged edges with preset E while F has no such issue. *Comparison 8* - 03:27 - TSR is pretty much not even rendering the electric wire while XeSS is holding up lot better. TSR is also leaving very heavy ghosting (should be more easy to notice at 03:50). XeSS once again beats TSR, too bad Intel is thinking of moving away from GPU division. *Comparison 9* - 03:56 - At 66% render TSR can now render the wire but ghosting still remains. *Comparison 10* - 04:25 - DLSS again preserving more detail than XeSS DP4a, DLSS E does have it's jagged edges with the pole which XeSS doesn't. *Comparison 11, 12* - 04:55 - We move to 3rd scene, distant foliage can be challenge for upscaling, F is usually good at hiding it but in this game it is even stevens, so E can be preferred over F. At quality mode shimmering is quite reduced for both E and F. *Comparison 13* - 05:40 - TSR is a mess, a very heavy twinkling which is very distracting, XeSS DP4a also very noisy and you can also see ghosting on falling leaves. With 720p render both XeSS and TSR should be avoided, other graphic settings should be lowered instead to gain fps. *Comparison 14* - 06:02 - Moving to quality mode, twinkling is still present with TSR but is on much more manageable level. Ghosting is still present with both though, XeSS has more ghosting in comparison to TSR. *Comparison 15, 16* - 06:25 - DLSS E has more stable image, leaves are also ghosting free. *Comparison 17, 18* - 07:09 - Moving to 4th and final scene, with F you are getting flickering with electric pole while E has no such issue, foliage noise is also slightly higher with F, there is some minor ghosting with leaves but same occurs very infrequently only. With quality mode image is quite stable with both, E has slightly more shimmering but same should be preferred over muddy look of F. Also ignore any performance difference between E and F, this 4th test was done around several NPCs and their mere presence close to you can tank performance from 60 to 30 fps, so performance is just unstable in such areas, look at previous 3 scenes only for performance comparison. *Comparison 19, 20* - 07:55 - The antennae on top of the house (extreme top left of screen) has better detail with TSR while XeSS is struggling with same. *Comparison 22* - 09:09 - We now move to native settings test and for same I have reduced settings to medium to keep fps higher. Someone was arguing last week that F is not muddy when in movement but that is not the case, at 09:32 is a scene that was taken from in motion footage and E has more clear image while F is giving oil painting look with in movement scene. *Comparison 23* - 09:39 - The jagged edges of E make a return even at 1440p render, F doesn't have that, however image is lot more blurry with F. I would prefer E, you pick your own poison. *Comparison 24* - 10:09 - XeSS Native AA has more blurry image but FSR 3.1 Native AA has very severe ghosting, leaving a very heavy trail even at 1440p render. *Comparison 25* - 10:38 - I didn't test TAA much, this test had reached 3rd day at this point and I wanted to finish it but TAA does depict ghosting like FSR NAA did but less severe in comparison. *Comparison 26* - 11:08 - A bit useless comparison here, off isn't something anyone wants to use here as you can see above, even TAA is big upgrade over it with very little fps cost. *Comparison 27* - 11:30 - At 1440p render TSR and XeSS are doing lot better, that is if you can afford such high render in this very demanding game, power lines are properly rendered by both, ghosting still remains with both though. *Comparison 28* - 11:52 - Do note that DLAA here is with medium graphic settings while both DLSS are running along high settings, you can see here that DLSS is not same as native but DLAA does have it's severe fps impact, even after lowering settings DLAA is giving 17% lower fps. Small image quality loss from DLSS is well worth it in my opinion but DLSS Performance is bit hard to digest though. DLSS Quality has nice balance between image quality and fps at 1440p. *Conclusion* - DLSS is winning the battle, no surprise there, within DLSS Preset E is winning over F even at 720p render in this game, normally F does better at 720p because of it's ability to control shimmering but it is unable to do that in this game so E remains winner all over. Game has DLSS 3.7 by default, swap it with latest 3.8.10 (or newer in future) and preset E will be in use for all DLSS modes, no mod required. For DLAA though preset F will be in use and if you want to use E instead then use my guide little bit below this to change preset. After DLSS it is between XeSS and TSR and both are a mixed bag, I am leaning more towards XeSS but you can decide yourself too by looking at above comparisons. To summarize XeSS can cause ghosting with falling leaves but TSR can cause ghosting with many more objects, TSR also cause twinkling with distant foliage which immediately draws attention, I feel XeSS is overall better and should be picked by anyone with non RTX GPU. I seem to be having problems with Ray tracing in the VR mod, the shadows show different in each eye (turn it off and it's perfect). A part from that it cannot be understated how much DLSS improves the game, by removing the killer shimmer.

dumb question, but if its CPU limited, why isn't CPU usage at 100% Or is it a quirk of the windows scheduler spreading a 100% load across multiple cores? (that assumes BG3 isn't able to take advantage of all cores)

This game is unoptimized af. Played Black Ops 6 on 1440p with almost high settings without DLSS and it ran 60fps constantly with nearly 5 VRAM in use. Sadly many games are really unoptimized. Some games can handle easily 8GB VRAM and look nice but most sadly not. Ryzen 5800x, RTX3070, 32GB 3600, SSD 980 Pro.

I run it on 3070 as well but all in low setting and barely get 35 fps, if I put anything on medium I'm at 25 fps and the mouse is so laggy :(

to be fair , the last patch didnt seem to have any focus on performance, mostly bug fixes and changes, like the breathing walls, lets hope for a major update performance wise
