I guess she was also the one who supported your decision to leave school. It's really cool that she also decided to go into tech. You also have a Nigerian viewer by the way
Thank you so much for answering my questions Darian and Cortney! You are both an adorable couple and your chemistry shines through❤️❤️ I’ll be starting my Bootcamp journey in two weeks, same week I turn 40 (hope I’m not too old!) Cortney, your answers helped me feel a lot at ease, I’ve been pretty nervous in making this huge investment and dwelling on a lot of what if’s… thanks for showing us this is an attainable goal in 6 months. Darian, thanks for sharing your girlfriend with us and for being a supportive partner! (Ps. Glad to hear you reviewed her portfolio 🙌)
I'm currently in college for and videos like this make just want to go full into coding. I really appreciate that the tech industry values your skill more than where you went to school.
Hey I'm on the fence joining lighthouse labs as well, I need to decide today lol. I was wondering did she land her job because of lighthouse lab referral? How exactly do they help in matching with employers?
@@DarianSampare IC sure looks good on the resume though and LinkedIn. Adds a little weight. Thank you for your honesty. It helped me see how I can adjust my resume a bit. Thank you !
She saved her money to focus on boot camp full time, crushed it 12 hours a day to do well, and then got referred to companies and passed her interviews. I didn’t do a damn thing but show her that tech was an option.
@@DarianSampare you’re lying if you are claiming that. Any significant other worth their salt would help their S.O. By any means necessary. You can cloud it by stating otherwise but anyone with common sense knows you were there at her beckon call whenever there was a problem, whenever there’s a new framework, whenever there’s a new language. Guiding, molding & enforcing your knowledge into her. Don’t sit there and lie to viewers that “She did it all on her own” because that’s horseshit. You were there by her side giving her notes, easier ways to problem solve, etc. Not that it’s a problem, that’s your job as a teacher/S.O. But don’t claim it was all her when it wasn’t.
Coddling someone into this field won’t work in the long run. That would be dumb on my part and I’d totally rob her of learning how to learn. I suggest anyone getting into this field do it on their own or it’s gonna be rough the rest of your career.
@@DarianSampare but you were there whenever she had a question or needed insight you could simply explain it to her unlike the rest of the other self taught devs who had to look through extremely technically worded documentation and confusing online courses

She sure was, and hello from Canada!

It’s a beautiful thing for people willing to put the work in!
Hey man, love your videos. Keep it up and congrats to your gf for succeeding in tech! Wishing well from California!
Thanks man! Big thank you from Canada 🇨🇦
I like the content! Great video. I especially love the "you will never feel ready" advice. This video is empowering!
You are awesome 🔥🔥🔥 keep the great work!!!
I'm learning fullstack in the US-- love your videos don't stop, congrats on making it through Courtney, and fuck that first commenter (y)
Appreciate you Sunny, and good luck!
Very informative video! Do you have any thoughts on the cheaper "bootcamps" like Codecademy or Zero to Mastery?

We explain it all in the video. Check the timestamps.
@@DarianSampare ya I watched the rest and then it came up thanks lol
You both are so very cute 😌❤️
Was your boot camp only front-end based or both front-end and backend based
Can you mention about Courtneys freelance? What was it and was that her shoe in?
She helped me out a while I freelancing with design stuff, but didn’t touch any code. She never did freelance code.

Man she is so beautiful!!
I would hire her even if she only knew HTML 4.01
It’s pretty easy when your partner is already on the field being able to give you a step up. It would have taken her longer otherwise
