Thank you, Jonny Lipsham Studios, for this nice overview of the newest updates!! I must confess that I haven't used my Studio One 5 daw as time always seems to get away from me, but this video is a nice way for me to get acclimated just the same! :-)
I have been threatening to upgrade Studio one 5 for a while.I still have the original Studio one 5.1.2 and it works fine, but there is still so much things that i don't know, however it's a new year maybe it's time for a new toy.
Thank you Jonny. The best use for the chord stack is making arpeggios, select scale required and quantize length to 1/16 . Drag from the root note up-wards and move the mouse slightly to the right, and you have a quick accurate arpeggio. Note: Have the note length set to 1/1 i.e. 1 Bar, then you have a choice of having one bar chord, or the arpeggio if dragging to the right. Hope this makes sense a little bit difficult to try and explain. Double click to enter the root note, holding down the mouse button after the second click. Then, hold Alt (PC) and drag upward with your mouse, move slightly right for the arpeggio feature 1/16 length or whatever your quantize is set at. The left mouse button must be held down after the double click, like this CLICK CLICK HOLD then Alt while still holding the mouse button down, drag up or down. Hope this helps 👍 The only downside to the chord stack feature is, it draws in "all" the notes of the scale, rather than skip some to make a decent chord. A work around would be to simply delete some notes to get a sound (chord you like).
Great overview!! Seems like there are some really cool updates across the board. Not too focused on 1 area this time. Thanks for doing the update video
Hi Jonny, have you had much luck running studio one in slave mode? Trying to trigger it from a couple of devices but when I go to the sync page and choose a device it just says 'idle' in the box to the right. Thanks
The issue here is that, as I showed, some of the platforms have different normalization standards. I showed some that have a target of -14LUFS, and some that have -16LUFS or -27LUFS. If you presented one master for all three of those at -12LUFS, then all three would turn it down by varying degrees. The feature is designed to help a broad spectrum of users ensure that their masters do not get turned down too much. Experienced mastering engineers may not use this feature, but not every user is an expert.
I only have artist which seems like a dead end I wish i had just waited till i had the cash for the full version the artist version is not a good option it just makes you feel like a second class citizen I will be moving up as soon as i stop being unbelievably broke. I intend to just get the full version when version six comes out till then I'm just sitting frustrated but that's how it goes when your a peasant i guess. every post on youtube is for professional only It gets very wearing but that's being poor i guess.
The new song page features, that I show towards the end of the video should be more suited to you, Pol. And I really do understand your position. I have been there.

I want them to integrate more with the akai force. Much like how Ableton is.
I was assuming that there was a new plug-in that makes your mono audio track (acoustic guitar) sounds stereo or am I wrong?

Hi Karen. I do not have anything to slave it to to be able to test it. Sorry.
who is still doing a different master for each service? on most of services you put one version which is then distributed to most of the platforms.

Pol, I have Artist also. Considering Pro or Sphere. You might consider that. I think it's $14/month.
