That benchmade bailout has the same angle for the tip as the belly of the blade. You do NOT have to move it like you did in the clamp. I have 2, one in M4 and 3V.. sharpened both a lot and still have same factory angles. Well i took the M4 down to 19dps..
Even if the angles are the same on both sections of the blade, you may need to reclamp TO sharpen them both at the same angle, just depends on the blade geometry. Not saying this one necessarily needed to be, but it is pretty normal to have to, and this was just for demonstration purposes of the technique
@WickedEdgePrecisionSharpeners I just noticed when I sharpened mine that once I set it up to match the factory edge geometry, that it perfectly rubbed the marker off both the main belly and the tip without having to re clamp is all. Yes, some may like to reclamp to have more control over the movement of the sharpening stones. Also , it may be different for other tanto blades/models. Cheers!!
