- UFO 50 is a collection of 50 single and multiplayer games from the creators of Spelunky, Downwell, Time Barons, Skorpulac, and Madhouse. The games span a variety of genres, from platformers and shoot 'em ups to puzzle games and RPGs.
Coming to PC and other platforms(?) in 2018.

alright, but it won't be a true retro 50 game collection unless some of them are basically the same game re-skinned and some of them are broken or unplayable.
I hope they add one more broken and one more re-skinned game to become the cult classic number 52 :)

I rather have this collection to be full of good games. However that doesn't mean you can't add references.

For everyone asking... Yes, this is still in development. The creators are streaming content on twitch, about making the game. ;-) I hope it will be released in 2021.

This actually looks amazing. You know what else would be interesting for a game collection like this?
A WarioWare minigame mode where it cycles through the 50 games and prompts you to complete a certain action in a short time span. That would be a cool addition to add more variety to this title.

This is going to be a blind buy. I played more Spelunky then i can remember and since PS+ got hooked on downwell.

They had this much to show in 2017, I cannot imagine how much will be in the game when it's finally ready to be released. With Spelunky 2 off the docket and mostly settled now... It's just a matter of time...

Interesting. I'm hoping that this isn't a quantity over quality situation. I'm a game dev, and know full well how difficult and time consuming making one good game is. I can't imagine making 50. That being said, my interest is definitely piqued! I hope it's awesome!

Derek Yu just confirmed via a Status update on the game’s Steam page that UFO 50 is aiming for the 2nd half of 2024 on PC.

With Game Maker development announced for the Nintendo Switch, this would be an excellent edition to the platform's library! Please make it happen, MossmouthGames! I'd love a Nicalis physical release; imagine reversible cover art, mini CD, stickers, and a limited edition where there's a Nintendo Power-like magazine covering all 50 games with tips and tricks. Freakin' epic idea!

I had some big doubts about this project when it was first announced. It took me over a year to develop a game (working 3-4 hours a day on it) and know firsthand how much effort it takes just to make ONE game that is fun and polished (bug free)- I’m not sure my game even achieved that, but I’m not a superstar developer like these guys, right? It seemed to me (when this project was first announced) kind of arrogant of the developers that they thought they could knock out 50 games in a year or so. I love the concept of a fantasy computer/console and a set of games for it though. They seem to have gone radio silent the past two years. Anyone have any updates on the project?
