Maybe the most incredible voice of any pop singer I ever heard. So sadly ironic she couldn't gain the greatest gift of all. To love herself and avoid destructive drugs. Same with lady day. Often this stems from underlying depression or mental health issues causing self medication. Thats why I never hate on drug addicts or alcoholics. Famous or not. There are no medicines that really help them yet.

she never should’ve married a man much younger and that immature, you can tell he kept acting out and wanting attention because of his jealousy and ego. smh. she deserved a man on her level who would let her shine.
I felt bad for Bobby. He would act out because he wanted some of the attention. She did not try to outshine her husband tough.

Bobby was already a star! Keep in mind, he loved her but WHITNEY’s career just went from fame to mega star! There was so so much pressure with concerts, movies, interviews and in the end, pushed her more to her addiction! I believe she enjoyed just to get stoned to mellow from the hustle and bustle! Bobby was really her protector but he’s human too and he drank so much more! In the end, they divorced and Bobby still struggled with his addiction and Whitney just did not want to give up! By allowing that ugly weasel of a boyfriend Bobbie Kristina wound up with, basically destroyed everything! Bobbie Kristina I believe was prepared to leave Whitney for him and that was the last straw for Whitney cos losing Bobbie Kristina is like losing her soul 😢. We will never truly know what happened in her hotel room, but I think Whitney let go 😢. Such a tragic and very sad ending to THE VOICE 😢

Any couple can fake happiness if you listened to Whitney 2009 interview with Oprah she said the marriage got really bad after the bodyguard. She wanted to divorce. They later separated for a long time in 1995.
It's so sad. Such waste and missed opportunity. If Whitney and Bobby were sober and seeing a therapist for mental health issues and stayed healthy they could have been like Beyonce and Jay-Z., A black super power couple. Instead, they represented black dysfunction.

Scrolling through the comments and failing to see one compassionate comment about Bobby. Bobby gave up his career to be a husband. His brand was a bad boy image. He sacrificed it for love. Nobody seems to notice that. It must have been so dam hard for him as a man to become Whitney's add-on. I think he did best he can given he's a strong minded and talented man. It was too hard on him because of people who saw jealeousy where I see attempts of selfless support.
No one forced him to him stop his career to follow Whitney around the world, Whitney never asked him to, it was a decision he decided to make on his own. No one is coddling him and giving him pity because he doesn't deserve it. He decided to put a stop to his career, he resented her for a choice he decided to make. He put no effort into his own career but was jealous that Whitney was getting all the attention, instead of realizing they were a team he made his own wife his competition. Maybe more people would have sympathy for him if he didn't mistreat Whitney the way he did. Whitney said herself that Bobby was jealous of her. He cut her face, spit on her, cheated on her, stole her credit cards to spend on other women and after all of that she divorced him finally and he walked away from her and his daughters life, making Whitney a single mother. Why should anyone empathize with him?
