Pretty cool house, great property but the colors and finishes are so specific to the original designer. Sure, a lot of the renovation seems to be cosmetic but it's just sooooo much to do. That's a strong blue. Lol

Complete gut job the house is like a maze it's like they did add on periodically,there is no flow,and Jamaica is too beautiful to have a covered pool I want to be outside,.
People with no money are talking about complete gut job. The place only need lighter colors to be airy with possibly newer windows (not necessary). The view cannot be beat. It’s a beautiful home.
If I should buy it I'd have to strip out the entire house, removing all windows, flooring, tiles and fixtures and remodel it to my modern preference.
That’s the problem I’m having with Jamaican houses that are for sale. The decor is so antiquated and the layout. It’s frustrating!!

How to NOT make a house. Too many walls, let the place look like a dungeon prison. The obsession with all shades of blue is killing me. Humidity/damp would kill you in that basement pool. The owner needed a good architect.
That’s how he bought it with the swimming pool.

PV ,,,HI when NORBROOK was starting my step mother bought a lovely lot , but then some AO ran a bulldozer through itt as if making a road, she was livid & fought for her money since it was destroyed, but she DID get her money back, but NORBROOK today is all built up, that was inthe late 50s , without an elevator I could NEVER LIVE THERE, my home has14 stairs to the top floor & 12 to the basement I catch hell now, do this do this for 45 years, having trouble now @80 cheers 🇬🇧🇯🇲🇯🇲🇺🇸🇺🇸

$84mil sounds cheap considering where the house is located and the size of the house but this is an architectural fail, I am so mad I want to cry....this property has so much potential! Renovation is gonna cost so much most people gonna think it's not worth the trouble. Can see the original owners are blue obsessed 🤣😂
Colors are soo strong! Very dark ! saw a lot of waste of space and it looks like too much work for the price.

This is an incredible house given the current layout of the property it would probably be best to let this as student accommodation, anything else is going to require a large set of funds to transfer this back into a family home.
I see this place not as a personal home but more as a B&B or a monthly rental with shared common areas (kitchen, living and dining room) as this building is already too specific to the original owner's taste ..... first thing I would do is repaint and redo the bathrooms and landscaping and if possible remove the sectioned window panes for just solid, tempered glass ( personally I love louvers as you can regulate how much sun or air enters a room).
The price is not bad considering the location and size of structure, but seeing the amount of work that still needs to be done, many may under bid..... and for that price, it would be easier to purchase land and build to ones own taste.
Nice view,desirable neighborhood, big house offering large sq footage, how ever the lay out is very confusing ,but the potential are endless I would certainly buy it if I had the money.
VERY NICE! It got ALOT of bedrooms & bathrooms though.
I would definitely have to change the windows, the color of the paints , the tiles are too dark, and break some of the separating walls ..

Me lost in this house and not because of size but design as well a lot of unnecessary dead space and twist and turn. The house price is high that's cool but the additional renovation cost will almost if not match the house cost. This doesnt feel family homeish feels and look like a retirement home or air bnb

This house was designed by a drunkard, the flow is choppy, bedrooms are in a cave, house has no appealing details. The most glaring error is not taking advantage of that spectacular view with porches and large windows.

Probably was built in that era when open concept was not popular. To this day some people who are buying now in USA still wants separate rooms and living areas.
If they give me an open budget I’ll redecorate the whole house for them because the interior is bad

@@caribbeanfortress I wouldn’t consider that a calming blue. It’s actually a screamingly loud blue 😂 I couldn’t relax with that shade. It’s more suited for nurseries/kindergartens and amusement parks.

I understand why homes in Jamaica need to have concrete exterior walls, concidering the natural phenomenons in the region. My question is, why not have interior constructed with dry wall or concrete boards? It would make renovations on the interior so much easier and less expensive.
Hi Own Boss, the dry walls would not be able to withstand the weight of the roof and / or an upstairs floor. A lot of the houses here have concrete slab roofs so the structure of the building has to be able to manage that weight.
The owners spent all the money on all those colorful paint 😂. I’m assuming they ran out of money to finish the project. The location is great, the layout and the design is outdated. I’m guessing you would’ve to spend another 150k to redo and reno that whole house.
a disaster in design and decoration the architect must be dyslexic and color blind this is truly awful in short "me no like it"😁🇯🇲

First, I think this is a wonderful opportunity to buy in this location but there some work to be done. Gale, I agree that the Windows could be floor to ceiling. I would also reduce the number of rooms by removing walls and create open concept gathering spaces, larger kitchen , updating all the bathrooms, etc. I would also paint the house inside and out. I really love your attention to detail and your overall presentation style. I’ll be reaching out to you via email.
