It says to use headphones because it actually had the audio for both performances. In your left ear was the 2015 performance audio (original 2013 lyrics), your right ear was the late 2017 performance audio (RM rewrote some of his lyrics).

This song is just so emotional. The first time I heard it the hair literally stood up on the back of my neck and it still does, every time I hear it. It is an incredible song. I know what you mean about being Army. I have never felt like this about any band before. They just get to you in such a good way and I can't imagine my life without them in it. I love this song. I’m 62 and never really listened to rap until I heard BTS. I am still not sure of other rappers but RM, SUGA and JHOPE are amazing.

So the reason for the “use headphones” thing is that the left side plays the audio for the 2013 performances and the right side plays the audio for the 2018 performance. It’s brilliantly made really.
You wish has happened this year. Watch BORN SINGER PROOF lIVE. It's them doing now, all knowing and bad ass. They don't perform this often, so that recording is a treat. 💜👍🏻

I watched kdramas whilst being furloughed during lockdown. I watched Hwarang and was drawn to the cute youngest guy so looked him up. He was Kim Taehyung aka V of BTS. Like you, I knew of BTS but didn't think to listen to their music because I didn't think I'd understand it. Well, that changed thanks to V being in that drama. I've never looked back and I love them so much.
Again ... this is beautiful like so many of their songs.

@@virginia_the_elder yes obviously they changed the lyrics :). I felt the need to give credit to previous songwriter bc since i, and most people can't understand Korean, when we get incredibly moved by this song it's largely due to the beautiful melody and chords which another artist wrote
This song is one of my absolute favorite BTS songs, it brings tears to my eyes every time.
If there are concerts in Europe again after BTS's military term, then I would definitely like to visit at least one of these events (although the tickets will probably be sold out in all venues within 20 minutes of the announcement) LOL

Loads of emotion in this song. I never thought they could officially release this because it's a cover of a J.Cole song, but I think it was the number one favorite unreleased song.

We have always loved this song, but it was never recorded for an album until Proof came out. It was the first song on the album so you can see how important it was to them. This is a cover/remix of J Cole's Born Sinner.
Jungkook and Taehyung's vocals are the best for me, those two compliment each other so well and really stand out together for me, I just love both there voices and am waiting for them to release a song together.
In the 2013 version they start out facing each other and end up facing ARMY.
In the 2018 version, it's the opposite.
It's allmost as if they were making a promise to ARMY in the first, and a promise to each other in the second (that's the year they were struggling and thought of disbanding).
The newest, 2022 Proof Live version has them seated facing forwards, and this time it feels like a promise to themselves.
All three versions make me teary eyed💜.

J.Cole has a song called “Born Sinner” which BTS used as inspiration and sampling. Of course the lyrics are different to fit their own struggles and experiences. It was put out as a free song on SoundCloud and was only recently put out in the Proof Album as the first track (meaning they had finally gotten permission from J.Cole and his team).
They wrote this in 2013 near debut. It’s such a personal song. Haters judged their every move as they always criticized them.
They really let out all of their emotions. It leaves the feeling of “How are we any different from being Idols or rappers? Idols or singers? Idols or Dancers? What is the difference that gives you permission to judge us? Can’t you see that I’m a born singer? This is what I want to do, and the cheers give me life so I hope they last forever. I’m happy so I’m good”
This song is THAT song from BTS. It’s a personal song for BTS and Army. Such a beautiful song, and they did perform it recently! In June for their Proof mini concert, they performed it along with Yet to Come and For Youth

If you get to see BTS live I’ll be there with you. I have J Cole’s, ‘Born Sinner’, on my Spotify list. It wouldn’t be there without this version by BTS so he’s no doubt got new followers because of them. I think Hobi met him at Lollapalooza. He performed the same night as TXT. I love Born Singer, it’s so emotional. I think their parents were in the audience the first time they sang it on stage. When Yoongi lifts his lip you know he’s going to go in hard. They are all so very special. I hope you’re feeling a lot better now.
I love that J-Hope & Jimin were able to meet and briefly hang out with J. Cole at Lollapalooza.
Like you, I’ve never invested time into listening to or watching a particular artist or group, but BTS never gets old for me. I listen to their songs over and over again because their catalog is so diverse and holds my interest. I’ve listened to and watched Born Singer by itself and with a variety of reactors. Never gets old. So what is it? Their antics? Their professionalism? Their talent? All of the above and more.

I’m in my late 70’s and want to see them live so much! I had a ticket to the tour that was cancelled. 🙁 I, like you, have never felt about other artists as I feel about BTS! 💜
i love the choreography for this- the old version with them facing in, singing towards the other members then opening themselves up to the audience as a "we are here, look at us" move. And then in the 5-years later they do the opposite and start facing outwards then turn back towards the members as kind of a "we can't forget each other/we got this far together"... just so good.

LOVE this song. If you haven’t reacted to Proof:Live that came out earlier this year, they do a live version of this with a live band and it’s great bookend to finish out that chapter.
They did this on Proof Live recently! They changed the lyrics slightly so they reflect the times now. You should definitely watch that!

I love the song. But I love more the fact that it is a special song for the BTS boys. I love this compilation cause you can see their evolution, their subtle changes and the twists in the lyrics. It is amazing. Luke hear it again. One concert is heard in the right ear and the other on the left one. There you can hear subtle differences in their permormance then and now
Joon, Suga and Hobi wrote the lyrics (covering J. Cole's 'Born Sinner') and this was released unofficially to celebrate their one month debut. The lyrics are all about how hard it was to get there and their passion. It's a special song for the guys and for Army who know the story 💜

You're ARMY and so are we. No explanation needed. We understand. As far as this stage compilation is concerned, it's two performances, not three. There is a third live performance that they did this year, when they were in Las Vegas. They're just sitting and singing this song. It was part of the "Proof" songs for Festa 2022. I hope you can see them live. I saw them in 2019 in New Jersey, US. I've seen many concerts, many.....BTS is the BEST, most SPECTACULAR concert I've had the honor & joy to see! Male sure you purchase an ARMY BOMB before you go. It makes the experience so interactive. I also hope I get to see them again!
You are so wonderful! Your expressions of your feelings are so on target. I just watched another BTS reaction and they used the same words..I don't understand it, it's some kind of magic. I worry so much about what they will go through in the military, almost like I worry about my grandsons, and hope and pray they stay safe .
The original artist, J. Cole said he loved this version. The guys said that J Cole was a major influence on them. They wanted to show respect to him, but share their story with us. I believe they accomplished both. And at the end, no matter if it's the earlier performance or the more recent, to hear the audience sing for them, talk about tears streaming...that is always me.
You know there are a couple of other songs that BTS re-did. One is called "Perfect Man," from a k pop group called Shinwa, they are from 1st Gen. Another is called "Bad Boy" by a Solo artist by the name of Rain. He too is 1st Gen. But the one song that I think you may like the most is called "Come Back Home." This group would be Seo Taiji and the Boys. The very first k pop group. So all three artists I just mentioned, let's just say that without these artists we wouldn't have what k pop is today. We wouldn't have any of the groups. A lot of the 3rd and 4th Gen groups know that they wouldn't be here if these first artists hadn't paved the way. Hell BTS had the privilege of performing with Seo Taiji at his 25th-anniversary concert.
As for you being able to see them in concert. It may not be tomorrow. When my daughter and I got lucky enuf to see them at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas back in April, none of us knew that they (the concerts) were going to be their last for a while. And even though it seems really far off right now. They have said that they will be having a comeback with all the members in 2025. So be prepared, save your money, and I'm sure depending on when they all go in will depend on when they come out, we will here something about a tour in 2025/2026, I don't have a doubt.

They sing Yet to Come, For Youth and Born Singer. The video is on Bangtan TV and called Proof Live 20220613 and is about 25 minutes long.

So sorry you haven't been feeling well. I had covid 2 weeks ago and still dealing with that pesky cough myself. No fun. Your elephant analgoy made sense to me, and I also call the BTS effect "magic" because it is just so hard to explain to outsiders and yet every ARMY gets it. We'll be proud of them forever! Oh and good news, they do have a 2022 live performance of this song! And there's just 2 performances in the compilation you watched, and the 2022 version is only the third time they've ever performed it. It's a very special song for their identity, and honestly it's probably in my top 5 BTS tracks.

There is a performance of this song now, and RM changed a line in the recent performance to fit his message now. If you haven't watched PROOF Live, you should. It has Born Singer, Yet To Come (with Anderson Paak), a short talk about where they are at now, and then For Youth. They performed it live with a band, and videotaped it for their FESTA 9 year anniversary, and released on their anniversary date June 13, 2022. it was recorded before their Las Vegas Concert in April. That would be a good reaction video. I will link that for you.
