I finally got my Mom a smart TV and introduced her to RUclips. Last night I get this LOOOONG text about this awesome show she is watching. Blah, blah beautiful this... amazing that... you know, right? She insisted that I MUST watch it, that I would really like it... and I did. I honestly really enjoyed it. And now I want to go camping... and NOT in my RV.
Thanks for a GREAT video! Blessings and Love from a Mother and her Son in central Texas.

I grew up in part of the area you went through. We worked a farm/ranch right on the Salmon River. We had about a mile of river on the edge of the place. I had no idea how sweet that was as a kid. We went to Florence several times as a kid. I joined the military out of high school. Couldn't wait to get out of Idaho. Traveled a fair amount of the globe in the military and been in almost every state (missing 5). I came to realize there aren't many places like Idaho. Retired a couple years ago and came back. We live on 60 acres outside of Wallace now. Beautiful country and great people.

i can relate...when i was still in grade school we left boise for lakefork. 6 miles from mccall- when the population of mccall was still under 800 ppl...and the lumber mill was still running. and living up there it certainly was a family effort to work your ass off during the summer just to survive the winters. so as a kid, leaving the "big city" to move up north SUCKED. i wouldnt of changed it for the world now knowing the value of all that hard work...when i moved out of mccall at 18, i moved to warren, only spent two years up there...want to talk about a special breed of people...when you only have 3months of a year to get firewood, which you NEED to survive due to no electricity(unles you run generators) no running water, only out houses, and the only way in or out after september is snow machine, and the road is closed from northbeach in mccall on up. so all you youngsters out there, want to do a real challenge?

The Moose fire burned over 130,000 acres. It wasn’t fully contained until the end of October.
It was the largest active wildfire in the US this year.

You really got my attention as you hit the French Creek Grade, and stopped at the bus, as I knew you would be at my home soon. Unfortunatly you did not B-roll the footage right at the bottom of the grade, as I grew up directly across the river at the mouth of French Creek on Robbins Creek on the Standish Ranch (Great Uncle and Aunt), however you did catch my cousins Berry Binnings old cabin site, where the Big Rock (June Rock) as we called it, at 36:09, then camped on the beach just up from My Uncle Matt and Vera's old cabins. I did enjoy the Yellowpine adventure, as I spent a lot of my early life up there working for the locals cutting firewood, and opening the mining roads for some of the smaller outfits. The Big Creek and S.F. footage was beautiful, well, all the footage was beautiful for the complete video, but these captured my home in such a beautiful way. Thank You for the Wonderful Video. Let me know when you will be in the McCall area again, and I will teach you how to make Clamdiggers, with Vodka, as the Clamato Juice was Intended. Meanwhile, GODBless your Beautiful Journeys, and always stay safe!!!! NAMASTE

At about 29:35 and so on for at least a good 10 or 15 seconds more when you guys encounter the snow bank, I don’t remember what or even if you mentioned the specific month it was but it’s quite apparent that it is summer. Even though the closed sign you encountered earlier stated that the state didn’t reopen it until I think you said July…or something close to that time and more than likely early in July, but just judging from that I can only surmise that the snow quite frequently gets so deep that it takes that long before the road can open. Only place near my geographical location is Mt. Washington N.H. and Tuckerman Ravine can have snow still around in late June. But that’s more of a nuisance for hiking than driving. Anyway, I was just really enjoying your documentation of this great journey you are on and I got to thinking. If they don’t open some of those mountain roads until around July, I had images in my head of what it would look like in the very areas that you were in while filming this in , except in day….late December, January, February and even March and April. The snow must get so deep and the mercury must dip so low that only the heartiest of alpine enthusiasts would venture into that terrain. But on a side note, I am only at about the 30 minute mark in this 1:14:37 endeavor and I have really enjoyed it and thank you for sharing it. I absolutely love this type of content because it’s basically what I do myself, except over here in New England. One final thought…..those gas prices darn nearly made me need a change of boxers it was so shocking…lol. Thank you again and you all seem like wonderful people. 👍👍

Burnt Knob Lookout on the cliff is so neat at 52:00. Also, the Bear Grass being so thick is impressive. You did a very professional job with filming, wonderful drone shots, editing. Area around Avery, Idaho is neat with old railroad and so many tunnels and bridges. Glad your newborn baby was healthy. Thanks for sharing.

I was a faller , or a person who cut down trees, back in the last century. When you are cutting one of the trees blocking your road. No.1 do cut just a little undercut, if you don't one day you it WILL bite you maybe even severely.

Wonderful production. Will need to go up there on one of our trips. It looks lovely and hopefully less crowded than Utah or Colorado. As an Overlander and not a big rock crawler I like following your videos as they are more scenic and travel minded rather than who can drive over the roughest most dangerous terrain. Congrats on the new baby. As a Tech Director for a school I do get the month of July off. Wish I got 2 months off like at my old school...

I just found your videos! And I'm watching the one you're calling incredible idaho! I have sat here with my chin on my chest LOL and my heart racing and chill after chill after chill LOL! I don't get to Camp anymore but when my boys were younger and my husband was still alive that was our favorite thing to do. R o u g h camping. I've been to seven different countries many states in the United States. BUT the best vacation I've ever had in my life was with my two boys and my little brother 3 weeks in a place called Paint Creek! I have really enjoyed this incredible trip to the mountains of Idaho with you guys. It's been wonderful.. I am a 77 year old great-grandmother from the mountains of Tennessee near the Great Smoky Mountains. Now that I have found you I will continue to watch! Love it😊😊😊😊

I've done a fair share of RVing across the country and had to sell my Winnebago and now have a Bronco and considering ovelanding adventures. Unfortunately I'm disabled, and a severe hemophiliac with a lot of physical limitations, hiking is definitely challenging so I probably wouldn't be able to do a ton of that. I'm sure with the right gear, pace, and group I could probably manage. A rooftop tent may be out for me due to my limitations, and I'd need some gear that I can easily setup/tear down. I'd just love to get out there and be a proof positive that with the right setups, people in similar situations could still enjoy what's out there. I'm in the southwest and there's just too much beauty to miss out on. Love your videos and adventures! Keep up the great work!

Ham radio would work great to find out about the road closure. The correct antenna setup would make a local or even a regional contact who could relay your request for assistance to the county level to find out about the road.

Really cool to see you guys in my stomping grounds, Hemlock, French mountain, Pierce, Headquarters, Grandmother Wilderness area, and etc. These areas I grew up in and still go there often for snowmobiling and overlanding.

I can't do heights do to severe acrophobia/verdigo which sucks for me because most of the places i want to see are either at top of extremely high mountains or i have to go through high elevation areas and then descend into areas like where you all are in this video by the lake. But very nice video and awesom scenery
