    Casio. Any digital model rated for 100m or more. I always use digital for the simplicity, and they are easy to read under high stress situations.

      Do you have to be law Enforcement in order to get this watch or can anyone get that watch because my father wants to get one for me and he’s retired DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration) and I’m a son of a former DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration) so do you have to be active Law Enforcement from like local PD and Active Federal Agent from like ATF FBI CIA and DEA in order to get that watch and my dad wants to get a Casio G-shock watch so do you need to be active Law Enforcement like local PD or Federal Agent in order to get the new addition G-shock watch from like ATF Agent FBI Agent CIA Officer and DEA Agent so do you have to be a Active in order to get the watch ?

      @@belladonna442 It's a bad time to be a police officer in America today. My advice to myself 6 years ago would be to keep your head down, respond to calls, and do the bare minimum of what the job requires, and go home healthy at the end of shift. Don't take risks, because your leaders would sooner burn a good officer, rather than stand up for them.

    For most of my 22 years I have worn Luminox watches. I decided that I didn't want to have to do anything to see the time during the night. Luminox has ha 15 tritium filled vials the will gliw for many years. It has a rubber wrist strap and I wear it with the face turned toward my body. The face is on the side of my wrist to conceal the glow. It is bright enough to read from. I looked at G- Shocks during my last purchase. Almost bought one but went with my old standby. However, if not Luminox, then it would most likely be a G- Shock.

    I am a long time fan of Casio watches, and currently use one of their solar powered analog models with a digital display in the lower portion. It's not a G-shock model but has been working very well for about 4 years of rough service.
    While shopping at a local Mardens surplus store I found some Zagg smart phone screen protectors for about $4 each and bought a couple. I traced a perfect circle with an ultra fine sharpy marker and cut it out with scissors and after cleaning up my watch face with rubbing alcohol as. best I could applied the circle. It hides the scratches and prevents further scratches, so I can read the watch face easier.
    I later learned that Zagg makes watch face screen protectors and is actually one of the products that helped launch the company.

    Don't know how well this would work for everyone, but when a trick I picked up in the military was running a watch on my belt. It was just a good way to keep them from getting banged around during martial arts, in and out of vehicles etc. Currently I work for a firearms range and keep the watch on my belt and I notice they don't get banged around to much unless I demonstrate prone for rifle or something.

I credit it lasting as long as it did to me being a more cautious in my day to day while wearing a $100 bill on my wrist. I work in a prison so, I also got tired of inmates asking about it. Would love to see that happen. Also I would like to see something related to impact weapons, deciding on various hand guns for off duty use and why you would pick one over another. And various other self defense type of videos that would be applicable in both law enforcement and security as it would be in the EMS/Fire setting such as dealing with hostile psych patients. Yeah yeah I know Fire/EMS typical response is to leave when the scene is "not safe" but in a realistic situation weather it be a family member or the patient leaving may not be an issue. Good luck with the videos, look forwards to your next video.

    • @freefieldtraining
      @freefieldtraining  8 лет назад

      +ff/emt I've got a couple videos about impact weapons already. Plenty about on and off duty guns and holsters in the works.
      I hadn't thought of dealing with pshc patients from a ff/ems perspective.
      It is funny that I always here these "scene secure" type jokes from folks. Where I'm we have a full time fore department that provides EMS services as well. They have gone in to some pretty "hot scenes" like I'm still holding people at gunpoint while they are running in to clear out the wounded level hot scenes. I've never had a complaint about them shirking their responsibility to protect themselves. I guess that must be a thing in other places though.
      Our EMS guys help fight with the pshyc patients on occasion, luckily we can handle the heavy lifting for them the majority of the time. I'll try to come up with something pertinent to that subject for you though. It is a great idea.

    • @medic37931
      @medic37931 8 лет назад

      Ok, with my previous department we usually held back,and of course a scene that may not present as hot can become hot. When we go in ususually we have police go in with us. Even tho it could have been handled by us alone. There was one psych call where I had to wait down the street took boston police about 2 hours and 15 minutes to show up for the call. When we got there the guy was like so what took so long, got right on the stretcher and was cooperative the whole way. Others I got dispatched and I needed to go hands on and restrain them to the stretcher to get the transport in order and done safely. Also part of the whole scene safe issue come back to both department policy and department of public health. We have about 3 departments where all the EMT's happen to be cops too, since it is ran by the police department not fire.

    I have a G-shock gulfman. After 4 years, the strap wore out and tore in the area where I secure it. Had to replace it, i think i paid 20 bucks on amazon. Great watch though. would not wear a smart watch on the job though. delicate, expensive and i cant take a pulse reading, the screen keeps turning off. gear s2

    Can't beat NATO straps for toughness, durability and ease of use, plus there's hundreds of colors and designs to choose from in the 3 major width sizes.
    Don't pay more than this girl sells them for: cheapestnatostraps dot com.
    I've been using a Timex Weekender on duty for 2 years now, with the Indiglo backlight. Simple analog design with the 24 clock inside the normal 12 hour numbers. Got a dozen different colored NATO straps. I change the straps weekly, wash them in warm, soapy water. Watch bands pick up a lot of germs as time goes by. I clean the watch once a week also, with a cloth soaked in hand disinfectant. I've also cut the extra loop and metal retaining strap off most of my straps as I prefer an RAF style strap to the proper NATO design.

      It says a lot about someone when they would take time to watch a video about a subject they have no interest in.
      Are you going to go watch more videos now about other things you are not interested in, just so it gives you the chance to moan about them too?
