Nice interview, but it's a little misleading. There is no "cure" for OCD. There is treatment for OCD, but no 100% cure.

I’m so glad they didn’t cure him. In the flashback with Trudy at her parents he still had the compulsions, just not as serious. It’s the only reason he is who he is. Him magically being cured because he found Trudy’s killer would have been so incredibly stupid.
